French media report Lorient have failed in another attempt to sign Francis Coquelin on loan, and he's staying at Arsenal.

Looked a bit rusty, when he gets some confidence he will become a very dangerous player.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Rangers will be without Kyle Bartley for up to six weeks after the on-loan Arsenal defender underwent a double hernia operation.
The 20-year-old came off during last month's 2-0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle - his first match of his second spell at Ibrox.
Central defender Bartley also missed part of his first loan spell last season with a knee injury.
But left-back Lee Wallace is aiming to return to face Celtic on 18 September.
The defender signed from Hearts during the summer missed matches against Maribor and Aberdeen with a hamstring injury.

Last night, James Shea was the hero for Dagenham and Redbridge in the JPT Trophy against Leyton Orient. After a 1-1 draw, the game went to a penalty shoot-out with Dag&Red winning 14-13; Shea scored a pen and then saved the 28th spot kick to win the game for his team.

Agree that Vela needs to go, never will adapt to English football or our formation
Re: Loan Watch Thread
Vela behind Park would be amazing partnership for Carling cup matches, and Fa cups earlier stages. He just needs to gain some confidence. He has everything you could ask for from a striker. He does well for Mexico every time I have seen him play.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Benik Afobe admits it is unlikely that he will head out on loan in the immediate future.
The striker enjoyed a successful loan spell at Huddersfield Town in League One last season and has seen a number of the Club’s youngsters secure temporary deals away from Emirates Stadium in the opening weeks of the current campaign.
Afobe might have expected to join them but, for now, he is staying put.
"When I first came back from the summer holidays I was thinking that I would be maybe going out on loan but the boss [Arsène Wenger] and reserve team manager Neil Banfield have both told me they think it would be better for me to stay and keep improving aspects of my game," Afobe told Arsenal.com.
"Obviously we know that the boss likes playing youth players and he likes to give the youngsters a chance if you are good enough to play.
"But I know it is only the beginning and we know that when we get a chance we have to take it and keep working hard. It doesn't just end here - we need to keep on doing better.
"The likes of Jack Wilshere and Emmanuel Frimpong - they played once or twice, did well and until now they still play well."
The 18-year-old got his first taste of first-team action during pre-season, coming on as a late substitute against Cologne before making his home debut against New York Red Bulls in the Emirates Cup. Now Afobe wants more.
"That's what I have always been dreaming about, to play in the first team with the likes of [Robin] van Persie and the rest of the squad,” he said.
"Football is a funny old game, and hopefully I will get my chance this season."

Joel Campbell scored a late equaliser for Lorient against Sochaux and set-up the first goal. Great debut for him.

I stand corrected: Joel Campbell did not score. He only assisted in a 1-1 draw.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Henri Lansbury played 73 minutes of West Ham's goalless draw against rivals Millwall at The Den on Saturday.
Joel Campbell played 25 minutes as a second-half substitute in Lorient's dominant 3-0 win over Saint Etienne on Saturday.
Nicklas Bendtner played 84 minutes of Sunderland's 4-0 Premier League victory over Stoke at the Stadium of Light on Sunday. The striker grabbed an assist and would surely have scored had Stoke defender Jonathan Woodgate not beaten him to Sebastian Larsson's excellent cross.
Carlos Vela did not feature for the Real Socieded side which went down 1-0 at Sevilla on Saturday.
Pedro Botelho played 83 minutes of Rayo Vallecano's 1-0 win at Getafe on Sunday and had a hand in the winning goal.
