Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Cesc deal done according to Guillem Balague:
GuillemBalague Guillem Balague
Done. Cesc will travel to Madrid with the side. Good luck to him. For Arsenal a new era starts
SSN reporting he is to be presented as a Barcelona player tomorrow, according to reports in Spain. Looks like it's finally over.

Arshavin is inconsistent, unfit, goes missing in games and he is out of synch with his team mates most of the times, wrong guy to play there. He is more of a ss...not a midfielder.
I would put Ramsey and Jack in the middle, in terms of talent and energy and consistency they are our best bet in midfield.

I was just reading this too?
Huh Wenger?
And from that picture of Fabregas and VP, it looks like he's saying goodbye...unless they hug everytime they meet.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Wenger was probably winding up the press, just a normal conference from him. From saying that "we would like to sort it quickly" last night to saying that "I expect no-one to leave" is pretty drastic.
Next step is to get Nasri out. Man City are negotiating or so Mancini says so hopefully we get the reported 60 million out of this and replace both of them.
On Rozza, I'd feel a bit wary of placing our trust in him as our 1st choice AM here. Yes his form has picked up a bit in pre-season but he still was drifiting in and out, albeit less. Rather he stayed as a squad player. He was excellent pre-injury but now he's more static and doesn't move as well
Arshavin is more of a SS, but I guess he has potential to play as an AM. I remember in pre-season that he set up VP with a nice chip in the AM position, which VP scored. I think it was in the Asia tour. He just needs to improve his work ethic to be starting there, although I don't see that happening.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Just read some snippets from Wenger's conference. All I can say is: "...the frak?"
He might have been winding up the press - hell, they deserve it - but he's also winding up the fans who also watch and follow these things.
Can't wait until this thing is over. We all have to move on.

to be honest...this is bad management, it has unsettled the team. Cesc and Nasri should have been sold earlier

To be fair to him he actually has slimmed down a bit, and looks like he did figure wise when he first came. But yes that too

his fitness is a disgrace for a top class footballer, i think this has a big effect on his form. he is out of breath after 20 mins

Even if they stay, which I highly doubt now, I really don't know how I'd feel with Fabregas and especially Nasri at the club...

It's over, you have AS, Marca, El Mundo Deportivo, etc. all claiming that the Cesc deal is finalized. Of course, it would've have shown class if Barca and its players waited for the official announcement to make public comments... but what do you expect from the Cules.

it seems to be done deal. Barcelona have no class, Lost all my respect for them. It hasn't kicked in yet, I will be sad when I see him in the Barcelona Jersey.

I really don't want Eboue to leave. This is too much now Cesc, clichy,Eboue,Bendtner and maybe Nasri.
5 Players and 4 starters are not going to end well for us.

Wenger knew all this from the start of the season and took his sweet time with it, I blame him for not dealing with right away and just before the first game of the season 4 players might leave.
How can we deal with this, this is bullshit.

El Arsenal no ha aceptado oficialmente la oferta del Barça. Cesc sigue en Londres a la espera
If my Spanish serves me well, this translates to:
Arsenal haven't accepted the official offer from Barca. Cesc is still in London waiting. (or something like that)
Don't know what is happening.
