Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Lille have had a shit start to the season already...really can't see them selling hazard considering they'll be in CL as well.
at any price

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Hazard recently signed a contract extension, as well. Even if he wanted to go, Lille can easily play the "you've signed a long term deal" card like we did with Cesc two seasons ago.
I'm not sure if we need a player like Hazard. As far as flair and dribbling ability goes, Hazard is obviously a very bright talent but I think we need more of a playmaker as opposed to a dribbler.
Getting Marvin Martin for half the price would be a good move. I also wouldn't mind Keisuke Honda, either.

But Hazard actually has Arsenal DNA:D Vermalaen should go to the press and accuse Lille of holding Hazard hostage!

Another reason to sign Honda would be his ability in front of goal, be it one-on-one or from range. Added set-piece expertese would be a welcome addition, as well.
With Cesc gone we haven't just lost creativity, but goals as well.
...I know who I'm signing on FIFA12 and FM2012.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
^^^ not entirely true. Cesc scored loads of goals for us because the whole team was built around him. If we go on about playing with a 4 2 31 , i think you will get to see more goals from everyone. We have plenty of firepower and combine that with 2 players guarding the CBs , we also have the stability.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
My only fear is that, we bring in someone like hazard, where are we going to fit him in the team? I also do no want to compromise Ramseys spot or any one of Walcott or Wilshere (the loyal players deserve to have that spot).
Now before you go on and say that Ramsey is a CM, do realize that wenger will play him out of his position. Esp if we still stick to the 4 3 3 format . Could we do with playing 4 5 1 then?

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
boys, i am about to share some good news! Liverpool are looking to bid for Ryan Showcross. This means that we are now the lone team to bid for Cahill by far!
The only funny/alarming thing is that Shawcross is flipping valued at 18 mil But hopefully this will not stop Liverpool from digging into their new found gold mine... please sign him!

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
At the beginning of the summer we all sat back and said that we needed 2 or 3 quality signings. Since then we sold clichey, Cesc and Nasri will go.
So far in my opinion we have one quality signing in Gervino. 2 more for the future. So where does everyone actually think we are. We still need a AM to replace Cesc, a LB to replace Clichy, a replacement for Nasri, a backup DM for song, a backup CB to replace squeeky.
Can we go back to the beginning fo the summer.

We have a loan offer for Lucho rejected cause that team doesn't think 15 days is enough to sign a replacement.

Wait, what?? loan offer? lol. This is really frustrating that Wenger can not see what we fan can see. We need players asap and he is not ready to spend yet.srigooner wrote:We have a loan offer for Lucho rejected cause that team doesn't think 15 days is enough to sign a replacement.

Agree. Honda would be a great signing.
I wouldn't say no to Hazard either! But I doubt we will sign him.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
There are a few interesting Arsenal transfer rumours about this morning, and these two regarding Nicklas Bendtner and Eden Hazard would be most welcome to Arsenal fans if they are true.
Firs of all the Mail reports that the newly-rich Paris St. Germain have decided to make a move for Bendtner and are actually willing to meet Arsenal’s 11m asking price. They also report that talks with Stoke, Newcastle and Sunderland have been held but none of these teams want to pay top dollar for the want away Dane.
In another news lol Lille Striker Sow told
Even though its bad to take the best players of a team, but if Wenger makes bid for sure they will come, feel bad for lille .

Canal Football radio: “I want to play at Arsenal. I think my game is best suited to the Premier League.
“It is my dream and I want to be playing Champions League football.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Daily Mirror journalist Oliver Holt claims that Bolton are adamant there has been no contact from Arsenal regarding highly-rated defender Gary Cahill since early July. What else is new
more bullshit news.
Arsenal are reportedly considering winger Eljero Elia as a replacement for Samir Nasri. However, Hamburg director of sports Frank Arnesen has reiterated the Dutchman is not for sale.
L'Equipe claims that "Lille are expecting Arsenal to come in for Eden Hazard." It is suggested around € 30 million could land the gifted Belgian.

Most Liverpool fans will be delighted with this deal not because Shawcross is a great defender but we will get rid of Poulsen.
But unfortunately the source of this rumor is daily mail so more tha n likely to be BS

Manchester City are close to agreeing a deal to sign Samir Nasri from Arsenal.
The transfer could be finalised in the next 24 hours, with City paying Arsenal a reported £25m.
Nasri, who joined the Gunners from Marseille in 2008, is into the final 12 months of his contract and has rejected a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.
The France midfielder, 24, would become the second high-profile departure from Arsenal this week after Cesc Fabregas joined Barcelona on Monday.
Nasri used social networking site Twitter to congratulate Fabregas on his move and criticise Gunners fans who directed an abusive chant towards him during Saturdays 1-1 draw at Newcastle.
"I heard what the fans were singing about me on saturday and it is really disrespectful because i'm still a arsenal player", he wrote.
More to follow.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's BBC so it's most likely true. I will edit my post once they finish the article, several rumours that he is in Manchester at this very moment.
On Zarate, it's unclear what is happening. Some people are saying Lazio have came out and denied a bid has been accepted while others are saying that the agent is in London.
