It depends if we need a 3 man mid or a 2 man mid.

They didn't play Giroud with Benzema in the last WCQer because it was Spain. We couldn't play with only 2 ball recovery mids... needed a 3rd player to reinforce.

We played Benz-Giroud against Japan and then we knew we had to play a 3-man mid against Spain so we practiced it in all our game until we got the Spain qualifiers out of the way.

In practice, we're using Benz-Giroud. It's coming... maybe tonight. But we'll see.

The starting mid duo right now is Pogba-Matuidi. Cabaye is the 3rd mid that comes in when we play 433.

I don't think Brazil is the right NT to go 4411 btw... I hope we don't do it

Except he was in the last qualifier and has been in every other qualifier and competitive game for a long time now.

Tbh i'd like it if he was dropped, would mean less likely hood if injuries.

I like Cabaye a lot... his makeup is invaluable for a team. It just depends on tactics. If you're going to play a 4411, then you need 2 ball recovery mids with Ribery and Valbuena. If you're going to play a 433, then Cabaye-Pogba-Matuidi is perfect for me.

Now that Spain is out of the way, France NT is going to try and figure out its own style more as opposed to trying to play special tactics for Spain.

Brazil are about as close to full strength as they are going to get, i would personally play Hernanes and Lucas over Paulinho and Hulk though.

It's amazing... Blanc and now DD just don't seem to understand that Benz needs to play with a second striker. He's absolutely not the lone striker type.

DD doesn't care about friendlies. He just doesn't. He uses them to find out which of the non-regulars has the level of NT. Gourcuff was the worst player on the pitch the last game. Capoue was second worse. Tremoulinas 3rd lol. Only Mangala was decent... but he made mistakes.
