Given injuries etc.... here's how i think the next callup will look like:

Keepers: Lloris, Mandanda, Ruffier

Defenders: Varane, Koscielny (if healthy), Evra, Digne, Sagna, Debuchy, Laporte, Sakho

Midfielders: Pogba, Lass, Matuidi, Kante, Sissoko, Rabiot

Forwards: Griezmann, Martial, Giroud, Payet, Lacazette, Coman

Keep your eye on this kid... Ousmane Dembele. 18 year old striker. Two-footed completely and is actually playing better than Ntep at Rennes. Very very fast.

Would try Varane-Laporte. Koscielny has been quite poor recently.

Midfield selection looks quite shit.

Really? I love our midfield. Lass has been insane this year and looked great with NT last time around. Rabiot gives that offensive edge to back up Pogba. Kante is the perfect backup for Lass. Sissoko usually does really well with NT and he's a B2B to back up Matuidi.

The balance is really good there in terms of profiles.

If Kos can't go, then it will be Sakho because he worked really well with Varane a year back... assuming he stays healthy. Laporte is a bit too soft physically right now and too similar to Varane in terms of how he plays. Need some physicality there.

Right back is where I think there are a whole lot of problems lol.

Hmm just saw Rabiot in there. Yea that looks alright on the 2nd glance. Need to bin Sissoko though. Would take Cornet over him to euros despite diff position.



Arsenal linked with Dembele sports.

Sissoko has naked pictures of DD having sex with animals... that's my only explanation. If logic were to prevail, Coquelin would be there instead of Sissoko.

Arsenal will need to pay up for Dembele as Barca and Bayern are after him too... Juve of course. Liverpool are there too. It's going to come down to price with him.

Ribery opens the door for a return to France NT for the Euro. Would be a fantastic option to have even if it's from the bench. Not the Ribery of old obviously... but he still really knows how to play.

Definitely. Eventhough I have not liked him much for France (not completely his fault as France have had awful managers who didn't know where to play who). But he is still a top class player who will be more than good enough on the bench and even as a starter over the likes of Valbuena.

tbh Ribéry so far since returning has looked better than anytime since 12/13. Looks in top shape.
Just a couple of games so far, of course, but he looks better than ever.

Well at least there's a logical answer to the Rabiot question... France U23 is playing critical qualifying games in March and Deschamps didn't want to completely undermine their chances there for friendlies where Rabiot would play little. I get that.

Sissoko is a mystery. I don't even ask myself the question anymore. I do know that Deschamps likes a physical B2B and other than Pogba and Sissoko, France doesn't have anyone else. So DD's personal philosophy has a lot to do here... It would have been nice if Kondogbia or Bakayoko had stepped up. But they haven't. So here we are.

Actually, i disagree RG.  When Valbuena comes back, Martial with be the 3rd string CF and you will have Benz/Giroud.  I think Lacazette will be forced out.

Giroud is the only targetman CF of the bunch and that's what DD wants.  It allows for different tactics that he couldn't use if there wasn't a targtman CF on the squad. Lacazette is a less talented version of both Benzema and Martial.

No way in hell should Valbuena be anywhere near the team man. Guy is past it. Would take Cornet over him to Euros.

Payet pretty much plays in the same role and is 5 times the player.

Yeah but Payet has no backup... and if France want the flexibility to play a 4231, which is what DD wants, you need a couple of guys that can play the creative role... and that's Payet + Valbuena.  There are political implications too obviously.  Having Benzema there without Valbuena would cause a shatstorm.

The fact that Gignac was picked over Lacazette shows how little DD thinks of Lacazette...  unless he goes crazy with goals over the next 2 months or there are injuries, he's not going to make it.
