It's about as much of The Witcher as Final Fantasy 16 is Final Fantasy. Change some of the names and it becomes Lauren Hissritch's fantasy show hmm

I love Milva. What a great character lmao. I'm reading she was important in the books but hasnt appeared in the games. What a miss by CDPR ffs

I have always thought myself as a witcher fan. Now I have not the read books but my roots start from the OG game of 07 (People might not know but even that was a huge thing). Game still has a amazing rpg standards but at the same time has aged liked milk because of the engine. I also love Cavill (No homo) but i still have not finished the second season as the first one was already such a chore. They focus too much on politics and not on the adventures of Geralt himself add to that some odd casting staff.

The show is trash. Only memorable things I remember are the battle scenes from the first ever episode, the beautiful ending of the first season and none else.

Casting was beyond awful bar Geralt (Cavill was beyond perfect), Jaskier and Vesimir.

Of course they focus on the politics as the writers openly hate the show.

And now they replace him with the dollar store Chris Hemsworth lmao

That latest season was a brutal watch. The writing has fallen way off unfortunately.

Still, I'm morbidly curious to see what Liam Hemsworth can do with this role.

The Witcher games that exist are all quite huge already. They still have opportunities to add her to future games.

Between their two Witcher projects, Sirius and Polaris + the confirmed remake of The Witcher 1, they can add a lot of stuff that aren’t in the existing games.

He actually does look good for it but is a dollar rate actor and the show itself I tried to get into and bar moments it turned out to be forced and mediocre.

imagine using the poor mans chris hemsworth to replace the perfect geralt.

if i didnt know who replaced Cavill i would have assumed:

1. that was a deepfake of Liam hemsworth
2. it was voice dubbed.

the absolute lack of effort to sound like gerald was beyond hilarious. stiff and monotonous.

trouble is the trailer looked good but the new geralt with a wig i just can't take seriously.

I can't stand how intolerant you both are to diversity and change. I'm shocked by the negativity.

Well considering that Cavill was the only thing carrying this show because rest of the casting is laughable in hindsight (I was fine with some creative liberties but at some point it just became a mockery), this next 2 seasons is just a write-off.

Besides I thought this was gonna be that last season and it should be, but I read somewhere there's gonna be a season 5 too for some reason.

Safe to say it's going to be a spectacular disaster

it just comes down to a team who simply was not very talented at all. look at the witcher game and the cgi it releases to the music, which is accepted as capturing what Sapkowski deems correct as the witcher atmosphere he envisioned.

the tv show did nothing for it. not in its score, threadbare atmosphere, for it all felt like a play you could tell they are all actors with make up and costumes and bad writing.

the only key memorable scenes i remember from season 1 are that beautifully choreographed fight in episode one, (to which was never replicated in beauty) to the ending when Ciri and Geralt meet. the rest was convoluted nonsense and some parts just plain bad.

season 2 barely improved upon it.

Cavill, aka the only good thing about it has now left for a genuinely bad actor to replace him.

no slavic themes. attention to any detail. horrendous casting. disrespect to the source material and grumpy author. kill it with fire.
