Wilder vs AJ. That's the obvious fight to make but politics will get in the way.
Wilder would flatline him within 6 rounds too.
Fury gonna be forced to fight Whyte it looks like. Though I think Wallin can beat him, might be another upset I'm ready to call.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Despite the fact that NOBODY asked for the fast last Sat it was definitely a classic, despite all the clinching.
Fury's gameplan was perfect using his weight to absolutely exhaust Wilder.
Wilder I do not get what he was thinking by packing on more muscle to size up against Fury. When will this myth end on muscle making fights as if you gain it fast and beyond your frame's capability it uses a lot of oxygen, hence why AJ becoming a bodybuilder ruined him.
Wilder's gameplan was effective for once and astute rather than being a windmill but his stamina dropping by the fifth cost him despite knocking Fury down twice, and ultimately the Brit came out on top and deservedly so.
Still hope Wilder knocks out AJ despite how despicable the former has become as he refused Fury's handshake post match. Malik Scott is good for him though.
Really hope Whyte and Fury doesnt happen. Whyte is like Takam or Chisora those mid end boxers who never beat the top ones who just do not STFU as the match to make is Fury Usyk but doubt it'll happen.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Agree totally. Wilder needed to get smaller than the 2nd fight, not bigger. He gained weight for that one, when he has always been his best north of 220.
He isn't going to stop Fury roughing him around inside, no matter how much muscle he has, Fury is just too big. The answer is to be quicker, faster and more mobile.
That being said, his jab to the body strategy worked very well in the first 3 rounds as it forced Fury on the back foot. Unfortunately, with the knock down Wilder completely threw the plan out the window and got tired throwing power shots (250+ thrown in this fight).

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Whyte won by UD. Helenius took the fight on one and a half weeks notice. But Kownacki Helenius was to determine mandatory WBA defense match, which Helenius won. Once Usyk vs Joshua is done, the winner has to defend the title. Unless he doesn't want, he then relinquishes it, and the title would be vacant. And someone else would fight Helenius for it.RealGunner wrote:Didn't Whyte KO Helenius?

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Paul has lost his aura after losing to a rather mediocre boxer in Tommy Fury.
Tyson remains extremely skilled and dextrous at his age but father time is a bit too caught up to him to trump a far younger and more hungry Paul.
It's a silly fight but of course I hope Mike knocks JP out even if the latter has earned my respect slightly.

Everyone hopes that. I grew watching Tyson fights, haven't watched single Jake Paul bout so this will be the first.Arquitecto wrote:It's a silly fight but of course I hope Mike knocks JP out even if the latter has earned my respect slightly.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Anyone see the fight?
I need a GL review, the only kind of review I trust on the internet.
While waiting for Tyson - Paul Why are you doing it Mike ffs. I saw the stare off, why would he fight that clown. Money I guess.
I hope he beats him but he is 60, probably going to get fucked up.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Usyk won fair and square, almost knocked Fury out at some point and was stopped by the ref.
Usyk is a great combination of defense and attack i never felt like he was in trouble. The split decision is a bit flattering for Fury even if he gave a good fight.
