Don't like
Sagna, Evra, Sakho, Sissoko and Valbuena have no business being in the team.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
lol. valbuena has been brilliant with club and nt this year. sakho has been the best cb in france for over a month now and mostly very good this year. sissoko has shown he can create and play b2b... he started last game against italy amd did well + set up ribery for tying goal against spain. he's also on form.
evra has been the best lb in epl for over 2 months now surprisingly. even man u fans admit it and are stunned.
debuchy has been terrible. sagna hasn't been great either, but there's nobody else.

I strongly disagree, in possession and going forward he has been excellent.
He's had a few moments defensively where he's been caught out by not being used to the pace of the league but aside from that he's been very good and international football isn't as fast or direct anyway.
If this is terrible Debuchy, i can't wait for great Debuchy.
If Sissoko does start btw any chance of you using him in the same role we have?
Would work quite well IMO with Cabaye and Matuidi behind him.

Perfect lineup. I 100% approve. Only thing that changed is that Varane would have played instead of Koscielny if he were healthy.

You should batter Holland btw, Van Persie has more international caps than the rest of the XI combined

We play Germany lolGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:You should batter Holland btw, Van Persie has more international caps than the rest of the XI combined
Poor Krul
Reason Debuchy isn't starting is because of Reus.... he has monster pace. Debuchy has looked far too slow against pace. If it were a less pacy LWer, Debuchy would have remained.
And yes, Sisssoko plays B2B with France NT and is expected to attack. Only different with Newcastle is that Matuidi also goes B2B... so Sissoko doesn't have to carry as much of the burden and will focus on the right side while Matuidi takes the left.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
So its more b2b then? thats quite different tbh because Sissoko just plays straight behind Cisse for us( in some cases ahead of him ) and has little to no defensive responsibility.
He's made 0 tackles so far and i'm not joking.
I thought it would rather be Cabaye and Matuidi in a pivot and Sissoko behind Benzema with Valbeuna and Ribery on the wings.
As for Debuchy yes he needs to realise how to deal with pace, he's done very well so far IMO but he struggles against raw pace.
I'm sure he will improve but at the moment he is adjusting to all this extra pace so its better for Sagna to play although his form hasn't been too clever recently either.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Yeah Sissoko will have to help Sagna since Valbuena wil the other one on his side. But it's pretty fluid with France NT right now... guys switch around on the fly. Very dynamic. I think that's why DD like Sissoko: He's not stuck in one position. Benzema and Ribery like to roam around too.
Should be fun.

Well, from his last interview, Franck Ribéry has fun playing for France again. That doesn't bode too well for his Bayern colleagues ^^

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Ribery played great. Benz is in a funk... still creates chances though. Just no finishing whatsoever lol. The raping Ribery gave Lahm was impressive.
Rami is an absolute joke. He comes in and the middle of our defense goes out the window lol.
Capoue terrible as well.
Sissoko is not ready for this level. Bad game. Ran hard. But he doesn't defend at all and his decision-making is slow.
Sagna played very well and it's very encouraging.
Cabaye, Matuidi and Evra were solid as usual.
These friendlies pretty much die at halftime though. You start changing 2-3 players at halftime and then it becomes 3-4-5 as you go along. Lose continuity and cohesiveness.
Game was attractive... but I saw what i needed to see in first 45 mins. Basically, France plays like Real Madrid. Same issue too: Great forwards and average midfield. So we try to bypass the midfield as much as possible.
Congrats Germany. Great footy. But your problem is the same... middle of the defense is very suspect. You guys cannot win a tournament until that's fixed. And no, Badstuber is not the answer lol.

Franck Ribéry was indeed amazing. Hugo Lloris made some great saves, too, by the way.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Really, just like Germany, we experimented a bit. Deschamps wanted to test Sagna and put Debuchy on bench. It's the first time that Valbuena started the game with Benz and Ribery... usually had Menez or even Sissoko play RW and uses Valbuena as the 2nd half energy sub. We need Diaby, Pogba or Gonalons to go in the midfield. And then at CB, It has to be 2 of Sakho, Koscileny and Varane. Mbiwa can get in there if he recovers form.
And yeah, Lloris is class. He saved a couple of goals.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Deschamps is becoming very Italian in his approach to friendlies... he loses all of them First Japan and now Germany. Team looks completely different in official games compared to friendlies.
That said, there's a lot of subs and a few experiments in friendlies. Deschamps is know for his second half adjustments and its not really possible with all the rotation in friendlies.

That's normally a German problem, too (losing in friendlies and fielding wild teams) XDsportsczy wrote:Deschamps is becoming very Italian in his approach to friendlies... he loses all of them First Japan and now Germany. Team looks completely different in official games compared to friendlies.
Looks like this time it was more like "which wild formation is the least likely not to win"

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Yeah... i saw Sagna and Sissoko on the right side and i knew it would be useless there lol. Gundogan played great though.
The pecking order for that midfield spot is Diaby, Gonalons and Pogba right now. I think Pogba takes over after the summer.
As far as defense, it will be Varane-Sakho if both are healthy. Koscielny played well. Rami was a disaster.
I noticed the pitch was not good too lol. Kind of embarrassing tbh.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Varane-Sakho should be the way to go ... and why wait to get Pogba in there? do it now!
IMO, it'd be in France's best interest to lift the ban on M'baye Niang, and get him assimilated this year, coz he's already on course to make his selection obvious ...

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Yeah... if Varane weren't injured, he would've started. Varane-Sakho are the perfect pair since they complement each other.
Pogba is not quite ready yet. Watched him a few times at Juve and he has a tendency to get lazy at times. Deschamps should keep dangling the NT selection out there until he fixes the work rate issue. But it's just a matter of time.
It's Diaby or Gonalons until then... Cabaye and Matuidi are untouchable.
I also thing the forward line of Ribery, Benzema and Valbuena will be maintained. They create a lot of chances... the issue is finishing. I don't think Benzema's poor form will last forever. The next 2 WC qualifying games will tell a lot regarding the team.
Diaby is extremely important until Pogba is ready imo.
