I'm not tryna defend racists or anything, this is always a bad look to even argue in that vein, but are the players throwing racist insults him because he keeps acting out on fellow players and getting away with it
He is not the only player who gets abused verbally, but he is the only one who lashes out on other players because of it and it looks like even his teammates are having enough of his shtick
I would say that, if anything, he has turned more people against the good cause than in favor of it

It's kind of naive to provoke every week and then cry because abuse. It's like poking a lion and then acting surprised that it leaped at you
Vini crosses a lot of boundaries too in his behavior, don't pretend like acting like a scumbag is fine unless racism. You can't just walk around being a Diego Costa and not expect shit thrown at you
That is never to say that racism should be tolerated, but Vini is a mediocre poster boy for this anti-racism campaign with his antics.
ie. poking/provoking a racist then acting surprised that they hurled racist abuse at you?
The issue isn't about the provocation (as if there is any action that can justify the racist and hateful abuse that gets flung at him/anyone), but the racism.
Irrespective, there are a whole host of players who are 'provocative'/have antics/are generally assholes, but who never have/have had any racism thrown at them. Besides, if it were antics that apparently trigger this, why is it that players like Rodrygo, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, the Williams brothers, and generally most non-white players also get racist abuse hurled at them?

See this is where we need to make a distinction. Yes Vini has become somewhat annoying. Just like hundreds of pther players. He embarrasses himself sometimes with his antics.
Gets booed, he says he likes it. He gets racially abused he breaks down in tears. You see the issue here?
The go to explanation for the racial abuse is him "asking for it and not being able to handle it" that's the absolute wrong way to look at it.
Vini can be a douche for all I care and be made fun of but it dhould never cultivate into racism no matter how insufferable he is. That's his and our problem, boo him by all means but keep your racist views at home when you leave your house

Because they're all players who are capable of doing a lot of damage to a team. As far as I'm aware, NPC Mendy who plays in the third division doesn't get this specific kind of verbal abuse I've seen a lot of fist pumping threats and trash talking hurled at the best players on the field, and it doesn't excuse anything, but I can understand that fans who are that emotionally invested in the game are willing to use whatever strategy they can to influence the performance of opposing players that can actually cause a threat.
And sometimes, it does seem to work. I still have a mental image of a black player in the PL being victim of monkey chants and racist jeers several years back. He wasn't a particularly high-profile player, but I believe he played for a top team, and he was a one man army until the racist jeers got to him. It was genuinely painful to watch the defeat on his face as the cameras zoomed in on it. And those fans succeeded at what they likely set out to do, which was to make him not play so well. I don't remember if he was taken off the pitch, but he was effectively neutralized after that.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
My point was more that racism has nothing to do with provocation, it has to do with being racist. If it were about provocation or a player being an asshole, players like Joey Barton and Antonio Cassano would have had racist abuse hurled at them.
Many of the arguments also tend to justify the racist behaviour on the basis of Vinicius' personality/antics, which is an entirely disingenuous smokescreen. Irrespective of anything, the discussion should have nothing to do with what Vinicius does and everything to do with the racist abuse that gets hurled around and apologised for. As has been raised in other posts, no one has any issue with people booing him, expressing discontent with him, or any other non-hateful form of shithousery.
For some reason, racism gets a free pass in a way that other forms of hatred don't, and it's terrible

Would be nice if Rodrygo finds some form after this match. Loved that first goal of his!

Too easy for Real again... vastly superior than the 4th ranked team.... while we barely won 1-0 as usual vs 10 men Las Palmas ffs...

Lmao Camavinga is not a benchwarmer, where did you get that idea. he's not a starter obviously because there's a lot of competition in his position but he gets regular first team player minutes, his positional flexibility also helps a lot.

Pedram, the naive one, being a Barca supporter, has no idea what it is like to have quality throughout the entire squad. He makes similar naive comments about city. Imagine how Barca would have done with 4 severe injuries to key starters?

Re: La Liga 2023/24
With City’s current form, I don’t think Haaland will be an issue. Haaland doesn’t drive the ball forward by himself, like he did at Dortmund. He just presses the backline and waits for the ball to appear inside of the box. It makes him a wildcard for them in tight games, but it hasn’t been an effective strategy for them this season, as he hardly gets involved in play and they have struggled to get the ball into the box.
We need to contain the players who drive the ball forward and shoot from distance, like KDB, Silva and Foden, and that’s likely going to be what will cause us the most issues. I do think we can handle Foden, but KDB and Silva can be a nightmare to contain whenever they play well individually. KDB has a knack for forcing the ball into dangerous spaces, and Silva always wins a battle of attrition with his endless stamina. KDB has been injured a lot lately, and we’re lucky if he doesn’t play against us.
I think their most consistent threat against tough opponents is their ability to shoot from distance. That’s how they’ve broken the deadlock in a lot of their matches. It’s once they get that advantage in morale that they tend to actually play well and start to capitalize on their momentum.
I hope we manage to pin them back in their own half for a period of time. They’ve often looked uncharacteristically clumsy whenever they’ve been put in that situation, and lesser teams have succeeded in doing it this season. They don’t utilize counter-attacks very well, so the risk of that should be low unless counter-attacks suddenly becomes a part of their game plan.

If you bothered to notice, naive one, the top favourite teams, city and real
Madrid have loaded benches, guys like camavinga. That’s what it takes to succeed in CL in today’s game.

Roberto, Oriel, Ferran and loans for Felix and Cancelo are on your team because that’s all that your financially strapped club can afford!

He's Iniesta fanboy, and you can imagine how many Messi fans he banned back in the day when he was high on it. Nowadays there's more Penaldo trolls in the Messi thread than Messi fans.

Kroos and Modric starting together. Tchouaméni at CB, Camavinga at LB. I'll be surprised if we manage to keep a clean sheet
