La Liga 2023/24
And Celta scores two OGs for Reals easy 4-0 win Typical... seriously though, too easy for Real again... all done with old Nacho, backup GK, backup RB, etc... Keep imagining next season with Mbappe added... lol they gonna run away with it n prolly win the league by 20 points by March or something XD

I think Vini is emotionally unhinged.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
I think Vinicius's temperamental. it was mentioned here but in my mind i was thinking well, the dude gets hacked a lot. Then I'm watching today's game and go, yes he may have some temper issues going on. I don't particularly hate it, we've had many temperamental geniuses in the sport.
I think part of Mendy's job as left back should be to monitor Vinicius. Rush to him after a challenge so he doesn't react and get sent off. Cos these la liga defenders will try and instigate him into getting cards. Also, he doesn't do anything too crazy when he gets angry. He might push but I don't think i've seen him do anything dirty like stamp, bite, head butt or punch a player. I'm not too worried. It's the opponents trying to deceive the refs that I'm more worried about

let me guess. it's the refs fault that celta scored two own goals or florentino perez paid celta to score the own goals.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
For sure Vini has to have more control and yes the other players should try to hold him back. Carlo said after game, they are talking with him abiut it. But looking back on the play, he gets held by one player, break away and another player drags him a good 5 metres pulling his shirt and to top it off, he slides him to take him completely out. That’s a red in my book. It wasn’t a casual pull. Can’t really blame him for giving Vini the yellow, but man, that defender got off real easy!

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Don't make it sound like Vini is the only skilled player who gets pushed around by defenders. All of them do. Mbappe used to be on the ground half the time. Messi as well. Neymar too.
It's part of the game. Referees do not call all the fouls. He needs to get stronger and dish it back because the referees will allow that. Mbappe has put on 10kg since his Monaco days in bulk to handle it. He actually creates contact with defenders who try to be too physical so he can then push past them. Since it's stopped working, defenders now stay off of him.
CR7 was the same. Became a bull. He was hacked and held all the time but he used that to his advantage and defenders mostly stopped... because it became less effective than trying to defend him from a distance.
Messi didn't get bigger... but he would fight off the defenders and get past them. Again, he used the aggressiveness towards him to his advantage.
Neymar was more like Vini... he would lose his cool. So defenders kept doing it. It led to injuries and suspensions.
If Vini is waiting for defenders to play more "fair" or referees to call the fouls that have always happened... good luck with that. Will never happen. He needs to adapt and dissuade opponents from using such tactics.
It's legit btw. I played youth football for my city's club in France. They taught you how to grab, hold and impede players in a "legal" way.

Vini dramatically reacts to everything which is annoying but Titos right. He's not physically lashing out like Suarez Zidane cantona etc

Weird, at one point I thought that they might run away with the league. They did have an impressive run towards the middle of the season
Another decade ban for this guy?

All the last 7 ones in order; Mallorca, Bilbao, Getafe, Napoli, Celta, Granada, Alaves
His passing is pretty bad because he's not used to this position but the improvement is instantly visible specially in terms of defensive stability, as opposed to FDJ or Gundo playing there who are not tailored for it

So is that now a 2nd red card that Vini has avoided within one week? Breaking records this fella

Why would Vini need someone to control him? He is a fully grown man who just seems to throw tantrums all the time. I hear of it all the time for perhaps he has himself akin to a victim therefore has no threshold of actual accountability. Superstars get targeted all the time he isn't any different.

I would probably be a bit unhinged when fans keep monkey chanting me and the opponent keeps roughing me up without any perceived (this being the imperative word here) recourse.
But as Tito mentioned, he does not do anything crazy like bite a player (Suarez) or kick a fan (Cantona) or push the ref (Di Canio). Or you know, actual violent conduct (Zidane). As he gets older, he'll learn to bottle that temperament a lot better but for now, he'll be acting like this for a while.

when did a mere push deserve a red? Dont players push eachother everytime or is it some Vini only rule. That Leipzig player had it coming and you could argue for a red card but THIS :lil:Myesyats wrote:So is that now a 2nd red card that Vini has avoided within one week? Breaking records this fella

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Shoves to the chest are usually guaranteed yellow cards but it'll be a red given specific contexts (violent conduct et al). Vini's push on Manquillo was a yellow but within context, it was off of frustration so the ref was fair in his assessment since the latter was pulling his shirt.
The push on the Leipzig player, that could have been a red as it was "unprovoked" (meaning, nothing like a shirt pull or constant niggling fouls) and in Europe, they tend to make harsher calls.

I would say pushing players to the ground in a fit of rage outside of the play is a rarity, but it appears to be vini's signature move
The Leipzig one was 1000% a red card, not a "you could argue" (https://dubz.co/v/b737d9, he fouls twice )
I guess you could say the other one was a fair yellow because he was indeed provoked by mingueza, fair enough

Re: La Liga 2023/24
The reason why people are equating a push to a red card is because, before VAR, player would go down for a push and the ref would just pull out a red even if them nor their assistant caught a full view. Now it seems they're hesitant to just brandish especially with VAR. In no world should a push be a red. I would say the foul from behind (yellow not a red) against Leipzig was a bigger offense than the push. I wouldn't have even given a yellow for the push, the Leipzig player exaggerated it

I am already excited about Osasuna game away. Will be a hard game for sure but by that time Bellingham should be back.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Any hand that touches the face or neck with all but negligible force, is an automatic red. It's under rule 12. Leipzig one was a clear referee error. Rules could not be clearer. It was a red 100 percent.
The one yesterday... the act itself is only a yellow unless the referee deems that the force meets the standard for a red. But the referee has so much discretion on this one that you have to careful.

Re: La Liga 2023/24
Vini pushed the guy basically on or under the neck though, glad Sport points out things more objectively n I dont expect Real fans to be that, its normal to be biased Anyway, Vini has to control himself more, its as simple as that, otherwise I dont see how one can manage the stress of being like this game in game out... there are some players like that in the past though, like Suarez, maybe some ppls personality can handle it or even likes it but its not good for the game n others...
Rafael Benitez sacked after the Celta defeat by Real... so much for his managerial career, apart from Valencia n a bit of Liverpool times hes mainly been a flop definitely

Re: La Liga 2023/24
I don't know what he expected from coaching Celta. They are generally an just above relegation team. That's where they are now so nothing out of the ordinary.
As for Benitez he has a good resume from trophies won earlier in his career. He is just a midtable coach right now. If he's fine with that then there are plenty of worse options around.
