she has since grown on me... i think it was more the character change-up than the actual actress quality that startled me... The young Rhaenyra was a rebellious, curious boygirl akin to Arya Stark... while the older one is all motherly.

Well the young Rhaenyera didn’t have kids, I suppose things change when you actually physically have a child to take care of
I’m just catching up to the finale and the casting is so good, when you contrast it with the Witcher especially

Really liked the first season. I have no idea about the lore but how come all the characters names are very similar? I felt very confused and had backtrack alot.

I guess the simple answer is that its a show about royal families and its customary for royal families to reuse the same names over and over.
I just finished watching The Last Kingdom recently and they have:

- Batttle of Rook's Rest was pretty much as epic as I thought it would be though I'm still processing the change they made from the book regarding how Princess Rhaenys and Melys die. My wife absolutely hates it. I'm not there though. I think it was pretty well done.

- I don't think Rhaenyra was bisexual in the book, but it did mention something about her being "more than fond" of Laena Velaryon. It wouldn't surprise me if that's a thread that the show's writers are pulling on here with Mysaria. Still feels a bit forced though.
As for the rest of the episode, this definitely goes in the filler category though I will say that Daemon's plotline has really grown on me. It's been real interesting to see the menace that Harrenhal gives off and Alys Rivers has really elevated that.
In typical GoT fashion, I'm guessing the last 2 episodes of the season are going to be faster paced.

I think season 3 will be better since its pretty much the season where the actual dance of dragons begins. Just a weird decision to make the entirety of season 2 essentially a prelude to that.

S2 is still well worth watching imo. The finale was definitely a bust, but everything that came before that was still a pretty good watch.
