Re: The Movie House - Part 11
my wife was REALLY into it, and is devastated it ended at S2
I thought it was worth a shot, but it was a 5 year project and many unanswered questions remain
Does make me interested in her future projects
She also has a great essay on the NYT about leading blockbuster female roles and how they are limited by how 'masculine' they are

One of the brightest people in the entertainment industry really. Love her.
Still sad I can't see myself watching The OA because it is unfinished. I had been waiting to watch it in order to watch it all at once, so I guess I'm partly at fault for it not getting renewed.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Finally watched the original Ghostbusters yesterday.
Incredible that movie led to the hysteria it did when the remake was made. Movie is not good at all imo, and it doesn’t hold up.
Only thing that holds up is really Sigourney Weaver being incredible.

Looks incredible. Sadly Trump and the US fucking up Corona means the countries who handled it well won’t get to see it...
Cinemas have been granted permission to open in Denmark now

They are planning to open cinemas in July here but i doubt it will be straight forward. maybe limited viewings with one seat apart.
I really thought Nolan would delay the release. Probably should have till September

Oh. It’s getting delayed, my guy. Until it’s safe to go to cinemas in NYC. Might be next year

Not anymore. It’s been delayed until it can be shown in L.A and NYC, because that’s an Oscar and monetary thing

What about that quote on Tottenham / Purgatory
You will have loved this
Very good movie though, the actress was the same woman who interpreted Fleur Delacour on Harry Potter movie

Who is also in Tenet. She was such a huge childhood crush. Mainly because I thought she was Claire Danes.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
It's weird to read this about Ghostbusters tbh
I don't watch many movies but I did it for Ghosbuster '84 and I appreciated it very much.
Critics on remake were justified imo, it's not sexism , let's be clear, but the female version of that movie couldn't work...
( I've find out just now that there 's a thread on movies, good )

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
^ I don't know if you 've ever watched the movie ' High Fidelity'
I've read both the book and watched film ( it was broadcasted in 2000).
I liked it.
The actress in that movie is a Danish blond, so you may know her.
Her name is Iben Hjejle .
Movie is not same level of the book (as almost always ) but it's nice. With a great intro.

It’s pretty sexist to say it couldn’t work. It’s not fine art in any way. It’s four comedians doing their usual shtick with costumes on and some visual effects.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Can you see your name on that list, Laura? (Iben) Maybe you'd sneak into the top ten. But there's just no room for you in the top five, sorry. Those places are reserved for the kind of humiliation and heartbreak you're just not capable of delivering.
So I can imagine Freeza screaming same words now.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Yes of course, I 'll search for comments.
Ah yes probably it has to do just with remake , not with characters.
Ghostbusters was an original movie for many aspects, beginning with the plot, that was the basis of its success.

Parasite is a very well made movie, but im the only here iirc that didn't like it as much because i felt the director didn't offer a message on capitalism with the film

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Watched Marriage story.
Did Adam Driver sing that himself? that was fantastic. Didn't know he was such a good singer.
It was a good film but didn't think it was anything extraordinary. Probably a lot more relatable to couples. Driver's acting was insanely good though. Fantastic actor.
