The Wrong Missy is perhaps the worst film i've ever seen. Certainly top 10 most annoying, i suggest to never watch unless you appreciate endless shouting
Had to fast forward to the end so Netflix don't ask to continue watching
Instead i watch Training Day for the 50th time, but it had been many years since the 49th

You can’t complain about that movie being terrible
Adam Sandler comedies is a money laundering scheme at this point

And yes Adam Sandler is basically fraudulent now
Last decent films i've seen of him was Grown Ups or That's my boy (was high af for this one)... whatever came out last
The Do-Over was terrible, i rate it E-
Scenario made no sense (as usual) and i did not even chuckle once, i think

His comedies I totally agree, they've been garbage for over a decade, but Uncut Gems was really good and he really did showcase some special acting chops in it. I wish he would do more serious roles.

Just finished watching Uncut Gems, man that was a tough watch. Never have i watched a movie that made me anxious and stressed like this movie. The consistent yelling, talking over each other, speed of the movie, etc.

Do you guys consider Tarantino as the best filmmaker? I do. His movies are my favorite and I still got to watch OUATIH so excited for that.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Okay, I might get murdered by some of you for saying this, but I don't like most of his movies.
I liked Django. I thought Inglorious Basterds was 'okay'. I hated the Hateful Eight and I couldn't for the life of me stand Kill Bill.
I still haven't gotten around to watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood though, and the same goes for Pulp Fiction, so I won't comment on those.
The thing that bothers me the most about his movies is that I always feel there's something repetitive about them even if the plot is entirely different. There's usually vengeance, bloody showdowns and Mexican standoffs.
It can be enjoyable once or twice, but if you're a filmmaker and you're constantly giving me the same product with the same soul, I will start questioning your ability to stray away from your comfort zone and deliver movies that are different from their predecessors.
When I watched The Hateful Eight, I didn't know it was Tarantino's at first. But 15 min into the movie, I was pretty sure it was. Right there, if you become predictable to me, you inevitably lose some points in my book.
I won't argue against his stature as a brilliant filmmaker though. Even if I don't like most of his movies, you can clearly tell he's unbelievably talented, and I can truly see why most people like him so much.

Once upon a time is his most different movie. You ought to give it a shit. It’s much different than the rest of his film for the vast duration of it

I'd really want to hear opinions from people who're into movies because for me a movie noob. I'd put Spielberg and Nolan on the top with Denis Villeneuve coming through slowly.
But again I don't know shite, so who would be in your lists?

Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Scorsese, Welles, Polanski, Coppola, Bergman, Godard, Fellini.
People like PTA, Miyazaki and Lynch are definitely over or equal to Nolan/Villeneuve too.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
For me personally Denis Villeneuve and Nolan are the pinnacle. I enjoy their films more than anyone else's.
Obviously there are many greats and they are all great filmmakers in their own way with their own styles, so I totally see the appeal of liking others even if I don't personally like them myself.
For example I find majority of PTA and Lynch films overrated, just not at all my cup of tea.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Personally I think PTA is the best modern director. And his filmography is only going to get more impressive. His versatility is what separates him from his peers imo. He can make almost any type of film and still be distinct in his own way.
My top 5 of the modern directors (Post-Scorsese, Coppola etc.):
1. PTA
2. Fincher
3. Tarantino
4. Joel Coen
5. Villeneuve
Some Upcoming directors that are great (Young or little output):
Barry Jenkins
Greta Gerwig
Céline Sciamma
Chazelle
Chloé Zhao
Mike Mills (On the older side, but he's so fucking good).
Chad Stahelski
Andrea Arnold
Ryan Coogler
Jennifer Kent
Bradley Cooper
Lynne Ramsay
Hitchcock is probably my favourite from before new hollywood. It's just hard to judge the ones before that movement as I've not seen a majority of their filmographies. I can't really judge a director before having seen at least a 40-50 of their body of work and their "classics".

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
About Tarantino, i re-watch most his filmography recently, this time less enjoyable than it was for my teenager self. A bit overrated even if his overall work is undeniable quality.
I don't know many filmmakers tbh, or more so, i struggle to remember who made what. Saying who's the best would require some research. Coppola is my choice by default because of The Godfather trilogy. In a more action register i like Antoine Fuqua. Of french cinema i love to watch a good ol Henri Verneuil sometimes.

Shocked so many of you consider Nolan the GOAT. I enjoy his movies but they never elicit a reaction stronger from me than "hey that was pretty neat", except for maybe that 1 scene in interstellar (a movie that had no business being 3 hours long imo).
