Could see him going Italian tbh. Wouldn't mind seeing Riccardo Scamarcio get a role like that. Think he's a wonderful actor.

Really doubt there's going to be a character called Tony Montana.
Also I've seen noone aside from a random twitter account post this

Scarface isn't really a great film (but rather great acting). If anyone other than Al Pacino played the part it wouldn't have been nearly as good.
This can easily be better.

This is arguably one of the greatest scene of all time. Incredible performance.

Diego Luna was attached to star a few years ago. Has that changed?

It’s a great movie because the acting, and everything else is so over the top.
I love how rappers and hip hop culture in general has not understood the point of the movie at all
@M99 yeah Luna was attached. Think it was when Ayer was supposed to direct it? Makes sense considering the dude loves making movies about criminal Mexicans.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Agreed about Scarface being overrated
Can't think of a movie character i find more annoying than Tony Montana. I'm surprised to read praise for the acting, i kinda remember it as mediocre it's been a while tbh

Scarface is a classic
As is the groundbreaking original 30s version
I like the idea of revisiting this movie every 50 years, should prob wait another decade to redo it

Yeah wait another ten years
In 2020 they'll have to make Manny a queer or something like that, it ruins the scenario a little bit

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I can actually recommend the 1930 original.
I realize people basically don't watch classical Hollywood anymore which is a shame, because it just takes a little getting into the groove and you can enjoy them massively.
And the great thing about the old Scarface is, it isn't even classical Hollywood, it got made before the Code got installed so it's very violent and morally ambiguous.
It got a great car chase action scene at the end, too.
These old films are well worth watching.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I love watching Howard Hawks films along with the production value of Howard Hughes himself.
Its difficult to get into the 1932 version but picks up well and worth it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Just finished watching The Hunt (Jagten), a Danish true-story-based movie, recommended by Freeza.
What can I say? An absolute scorcher of a movie, and I loved and hated every second of it.
Mads' performance was nothing short of a masterpiece, and it was really heartbreaking and extremely difficult to watch his character go through all that pain for something he didn't do (this is why I said I hated every second of it).
But to expand on the part we discussed the other day Freeza: by recommending The Hunt to me and after watching it, I'm here to tell you that all you did was prove to me (although there was no proof needed) that Mads is one of the best actors working today, be it in English or Danish.
I loved his performance in The Hunt, but I disagree with the idea that his very best can only emerge when he's playing a fragile, innocent person. I have now watched him take on so many different roles throughout his career and nailing all of them to a tee (as a badass, as a villain, as a hero and now thanks to you as an innocent fragile man as well). And this is testimony to his versatility as an actor.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Yea great film. Really underrated. Still unsure what to think about the ending.
Both Batmanglij and Mike Cahill makes interesting films.
Can't wait for Bliss. Don't know when it will be released or if pushed back to 2021.
- Spoiler:
- Do you believe she was actually from the future?

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
- Spoiler:
- i think the way to view the film is through Peter's eyes, as he is the main character at the end of the day. Maggie told him, "the choice is yours". And that's fundamentally the basis of true/actual belief.
and i genuinely believe that's what they were going for, like Batmanglij says in that interview the ending seems ambiguous but it really isnt because it ends the way it is supposed to end. Whether you want to believe she was from the future or not, is left to the viewer's own interpretation/psychology of belief because that's what the film provokes/plays on
