Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I' m on Community really now,arrved at 12th episode
I had stopped on the 6th previously, so I've officially unlocked
Not still a big fan , but it seems legit
110 episodes totally, I didn't think it was so wide. not a great problem given that lenght of every episode though

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I loved Skins. Skam just didn’t appeal to me. Granted, I hardly watched it, so I’m not in a position to judge it’s quality. If I’m not mistaken, it aired on a channel that mostly centers around rather bland, low budget shows for kids and teenagers, and I assume the producers didn’t have very high ambitions for the show. It was praised by local critics for being multicultural and inclusive when it was released here, but it didn’t seem particularly popular, initially. I was a little shocked when I read that American actors and celebrities were watching it. Figured it might be worth a watch, after all.
MT started asking me about it, and he sent me a link where I could stream the first season. I watched a few episodes, but I didn’t see the appeal in it, so I gave up on the show entirely. I still don’t know why some people love it so much. I saw on the news that some icelanders had gone out of their way to learn Norwegian after watching Skam, and that just seems wild to me. Someone should’ve probably informed them that the show covers a wide range of regional accents/dialects.

This 22th episode of Community (" "The Art of Discourse") is an evident tribute to Animal House, from the beginning to the end

I’m on the fifth and last season. The handicap toilet episode is quite brilliant. I think it’s in the first or second season.
Richard Aoyade/Moss is actually half Norwegian

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Catching up on a lot of shite during Lockdown.
1) Arrested Development: First 3 seasons were amazing. Season 4 I couldn't even finish it. Season 5 saved it a bit but I am willing to watch season 6 purely based on the first 3 seasons. Y'all were correct about it, what a horrid fall from grace.
2) The People vs OJ Simpson: Man what a series and perfect casting. Would be in my top 2 mini series beside Band of Brothers.
Do you guys have any other Mini Series based on real life major events?
Also nice to see the IT crowd train, me and Lex spoke it about it once. The best part about this series is that it keeps on getting better every season. Every cast member that joins the show just makes it fucking better.

I love Douglas Reynholm, man. Such a unique and wacky character, a bit like Ari Gold from Entourage, just infinitely more dense and self-absorbed

When They See Us
Unbelievable
Chernobyl
Season 2 of American Crime Story is decent but not as good as OJ (Assassination Of Gianni Versace).

Best episode in the entire show, in my opinion. I laughed so hard when the camera zoomed in on the «emergency call» tag on the wire that Roy had mistaken for a toilet flusher.

Anyone has watched the Show Britannia? I am halfway through second season, i think it is pretty good. It is about the invasion of the roman empire and Celtic mythology. Fun watch.

I start to watch IT Crowd since many of you guys were praising it
Tbh the first season isn't all that good and Moss is the only character that stood out. But it remain somehow watchable and the episode at Gay Show was funny enough to maintain interest. Overall the quality has been a crescendo so far, so i'll keep watching it.

Well, I can’t honestly say that the show is great all the way through. In terms of providing consistent entertainment, there were definitely periods were I was a bit bored by it’s mediocrity. «enough to maintain interest» is a pretty good description for those parts of the show.
There are individual episodes that I enjoyed more than others, and I think the characters are likeable - Douglas Reinhold, in particular. For me, the show only got better after his introduction. The show never hits the greatest of heights, but I think it has a memorable cast, and brilliantly written, individual episodes that only work because of the quirky personalities of the characters, and the environment they’re in.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Agreed with that ^
Just finished it. It was really good overall. Some episodes were a bit 'sensible chuckle' but others had hilarious moments to make up for it.
Still think it peaked in S2. Best season by far.
