The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Part 3
--------------------
Smashed season 1 of Utopia last night lol. 6 episodes of 55 minutes each. Never finished 1 season in 1 go since TWD 5 years back.
Insane season 1. Highly recommended if you are into it. Love the story and the brilliant twists and turns

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
hmm hard to explain and the synopsis on imdb is pretty wayward.
It's best if you see the first two episodes and you will understand it.
The genre is action, mystery, thriller, suspense, violence and drama. It's British btw and you will get Luther/Misfits vibe at times.

Seems good. As long as it isn't horror, I'm fairly open to anything

Nah not horror as in nothing supernatural in it. But a lot of gore. More than GoT even so watch out for that.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
So I watched a couple of episode of this Utopia Arrjee is fapping about.
Suspenseful storyline but pretty shit cast. Interesting characters that just haven't been done justice with that terrible group. I like the little kid, the two assassins and Wilson Wilson is alright, the rest though There aren't hot babes in it which already ruins it for me. There's the pretty average looking broad that supposed to be the fit one in the show
Does the show have a small budget or something? Could've been a great show if it was taken up by some huge network.
I'd say it's decent.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Do you watch Shows for 'babes'? There are porn websites which offers decent storylines that have 'babes' in it mate.
You are the same guy who thought Luther was shit so I am not surprised about your comment. British shows goes over your head.
If you think that's a shit cast then I feel sorry for you.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Anyways finished season 2 of Utopia last night. 2 seasons in 2 nights Reminds me of the prison break/heroes days 6 years ago.
Utopia is truly a masterpiece. It's exceptional. Not been impressed with a show so much in a long time. It really is perfection with every way. Specially with the limited budget.
The story is new and the best thing about it is that it's thought provoking. You really can't say who are the bad guys in this because there aren't any. As it says in the show 'There are no sides'. You will understand this if you watch it. The story really was fantastic and perfectly executed. The cinematography is excellent along with the soundtrack. The action in it is great considering the budget.
The best thing about the show is probably the acting. Can't emphasise on how good the acting is. If you see the actors in some other shows and then compare their acting in Utopia, you will be shocked. Every single actor fits his/her role. They actually act like real people in situations and it doesn't seem fabricated in any way. I was really really impressed with Pietre's acting. He plays the role of the psychopath to perfection. Almost as similar to Dexter.
The show is very very dark and complex though. It might go over your head if it's not your thing or if you don't understand it. Similarly the themes it presents are based on nihilistic view on life along with the cynical nature of the human beings. It's very disturbing at points. The show nearly got cancelled because of the complaints it received after some episodes.
I regard this show as high as Luther or True Detective based on the ideology of it.
9.3/10

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Anyone seen Black Mirror? Another British show but it's an anthology. Each season has 3 episodes but completely new story per episode.
It's an anthology that shows the dark side of life and technology. Another gem I found and i'll probably repeat what I said about Utopia. It's the most thought provoking drama I've seen.
You will instantly get hooked if you watch it. 99% guarantee because of one event which you will see early on lol.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
RG Agreed on Pietrie, my favourite character by far.
Also McAgger, this is probably the most realistic cast on television. Does the show have smoking hot babes? No, because the characters aren't going around spending an hour putting on make up in the morning, they're real people struggling with illness, injury, emotional stress and death on a daily basis.
Actually disgusted that a show which actually gives major character roles to non-Anglo actors without reputations who have crafted very realistic, empathetic characters who do an exceptional job of carrying a very morally grey, complex plot is being criticised for not providing eye candy. These characters don't go around making silly quips in the face of danger, they break down, they panic, they get distracted by every day arguments and struggle to accept their situation whilst still convincing you of the actions they do take to survive and of their growth as people.
HBO will be doing their own version in the future, hopefully the concept gets more recognition then.

Not sure how the American version will be. HBO knew how good British Utopia was so they took it for USA and I am glad it's HBO and not some cheap channel(American version of Inbetweeners ). However I doubt it will be able to replicate the authenticity and the atmosphere.

With Ra’s al Ghul set to appear in The CW’s ‘Arrow,’ Liam Neeson says he’d be more than happy to reprise his role from the ‘Dark Knight’ films.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
As much as we love it. The chances are slim. IIRC, CW came out saying they won't get Neeson just because they don't want to confuse people regarding the universes as people might start thinking the Nolan universe was the same as this Arrow's universe.
------
Finished Black Mirror last night. It's the most through provoking series I've ever seen in my life. I really recommend it to everyone. The ideas it explores and conveys are incredible. Every single episode will get you hooked within 5 minutes. It's another Channel 4 masterpiece. But even if you are not fan of British shows, watch it for the sole purpose of what it tries to show. It really will help you in life.

I'm looking for a new show to start. I going to finish up the last season of Luther and currently my list consists of The Strain, Under the Dome, and Hell on Wheels. I think I might try Black Mirror. Any other suggestions?

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
lol all three are great shows.
-TD consists of 8 episodes as it only has one season(anthology)
-BB is a completed show and has 5 seasons consisting 22 episodes each
-GoT has 4 seasons but 12 episodes each season.
You should watch all 3 but if you want to watch in order then TD could be finished the fastest so watch that first. Then Game Of Thrones and then BB since that will take you a lot of time.
Btw How did you find Luther?
