Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
We live in a weird reality where United, Chelsea and now Arsenal are being coached by legendary ex-players. Though in Arsenal's case, I don't think they're looking for Ljungberg to be a long-term success. He's there while they scramble around for a new head coach.

Had to happen.
I think the fans would have burned the Emirates to the ground if it didn't

Nah, they would have to actually turn up to do that.
Di Marzio and Bouhafsi both reporting the club is talking with Nuno Espirito Santo. Not the most inspiring choice, tbh.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
I find Emery to be the victim here. Not that I consider him a world class coach, he made some questionable decision at his time at Arsenal, but if the result of last night were what cost him his job, Arsenal should have been 4-0 up by half time, they completely dominated Eintracht until they scored. And Nuno Espirito is no better than Emery.
Good ebening.

The result last night wasn't even that important, we still qualify to the next stage but his Arsenal has been a complete mess after 100m+ investment, there are no excuses really. In fact it took too long, I've wanted Emery gone since last season, but we are too 'le classy' to do it in his first season.
Emery is a probably a great guy but a mediocre coach, at least for a team that has high ambitions.
And now, as you said, we're about to appoint someone who's worse than Emery. This club is done, finished.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
Arsenal have the same problems - unconvincing defense and a totally forgettable midfield - that they had when Emery took over 1.5 years ago, so probably he deserved to be sacked for failing to improve anything, Although apart from strikers this Arsenal squad is the worst in my memory.
Just checked and Arsenal have one (1) goal from their midfielders in the Prem this season and that's a penalty scored by Pepe. Purely scoring wise that's the worst midfield in the league.

Torreira scored a goal too. But yes, that's just two goals.
Willock is a midfielder with a good goal threat that scored 4 times in League Cup and Europa League but he's not a frequent starter in the PL yet I think

im not saying we have worldie scoring midfielders, but let me tell you what the biggest contributing factor to that stat is - Emery's cowardly approach to games

I don't think you're losing a particularly good manager in Emery, but I also don't think a new manager is going to drastically improve your results until you sign a good player or two. You're 8th in the Prem and I don't think your squad belongs much higher than that.

Their biggest mistake is continually starting that dumpster fire of a player Xhaka.
He's so bad. He's the Dier of Arsenal

Why didnt he put on Laca or Pepe when 1-2 down? He was trying too hard to be Bald Pep with his bizzare player selection

I can't see it happening anyways.
I think club really would like Freddie and the gang to do well so they can avoid getting anyone in at all.

Interesting that Pochettino hasn't come out yet to deny interest in the Arsenal job, like Allegri did for example. Though I reckon it will come soon.
Still interesting.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
Hope he is bitter about the sack. Also he would be stupid to deny interest as the next best job after this will be Everton or West Ham.
Unless Zidane gets the sack.
Think Ole is going to stay till summer.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
- Zidane seems like he has got things back in control
- Bayern want ten Hag in the summer
- Barcelona will want a more attacking minded coach like Gallardo
- PSG are happy with Tuchel
Man Utd is the only competition, if Pochettino wants revenge against Spurs, what better way than to succeed at Arsenal
I would lose my shit, but I'm not too optimistic, because Pochettino seems like a guy who really connects with the clubs he manages.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
the Allegri reports still boggle me for some reason, but if he really can't speak English than I think we should just stay away tbh. Because i'm not gunna deal with another language barrier situation, i think it was such a big negative in the whole Emery experiment.

PSG really are idiots, aren't they? Anyway, good for us. Keep Freddie until Tuchel is sacked and get him instead. Might even be a better option.

It's over bro, I also really wanted Allegri but he either isn't interested or we aren't. Either way it's not happening. Pochettino / Tuchel are the next obsession.
