Should have been obvious when two calm and collected guys like Jay and Me said it tbh.

Europa League will do that to a man. He looks like he's aged 20 years in the last 12 months. Gonna be me 10 months from now when we're knocked out by Dinamo Ausparagus

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
I don't think so. Don't see why UEFA would give the CL spot to the loser of the final.
Went and look up that same question and found this...

Went and look up that same question and found this...
What effect does an English team winning the Europa League have?
Arsenal and Chelsea are in the Europa League final and the winners will qualify for next season's Champions League group stages.
If the winners finish outside the top four in the Premier League (which is almost certainly the case for Arsenal), it will mean five English teams will be in the Champions League.
However if they do finish in the top four (as Chelsea have), then England will not get an extra spot. The team who finish third in the fifth-ranked league - France - will go into the Champions League group stages instead of the qualifiers.
Even if the winners have already qualified for the Champions League through league position, however, there is no spot for the beaten finalists.

I wouldn't be too rough on Emery, the game was decided by one player and i may add a legendary player of the PL history.

As much as I think he's a fraud, he could use a summer with some signings.
The current arsenal squad is...pretty bad.
I don't think it would be a mistake to sack him tho tbh

If Allegri can somehow be convinced to take over, I would sack him on the spot.

Seeing that Emery is a serial EL winner it's kind of, well, STUPID to declare him a fraud based on a lost EL final.

Tbf most of us who don't rate him haven't done for multiple seasons.
I have no idea if Kaladin decided based on this one game but he deserves a chance to defend himself IMO.

I don't know if I'll go so far as the declare fraud, yet.
He doesn't seem the kind to budge to his philosophy (whatever that is), and adapt his tactics.
But on the other hand, we have sooooo many bum players. It's crazy.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
My concern with him is that he wants Arsenal to be, in his words, a "chameleon team". He wants Arsenal to be able to play in any way for any situation, which sounds great on paper, but essentially means that the team will be a jack of all trades when every other decent team has one way and refines it until it's great. Emery will never commit to one style, so his teams never get great at any one style, and his players inevitably lose interest because he's constantly flipping from one method to another. Even with a bunch of bums at his disposal, he's performing worse than the previous coach. He won't last beyond next season.

If Man City get ban from Champions League does that mean Arsenal qualify as they are 5th placed team in the league?

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
I assume that much though the defending EPL champions getting a CL ban is definitely not a good look for PL. Also, I highly doubt such a scenario would take place.
Serial winner with Sevilla who already was winning it before him. His record in the EL (then called UEFA Cup) were a r32 KO with Valencia vs D.Kiev and a QF exit vs Atletico (Dr. Google is my friend).
Yes, I am nitpicking the man's career, a career in which I'll never have. Allow it imo.

Re: Unai Emery Sack Watch
Yeah, he's a bum.
Watford had 31 shots. 31 shots from the team bottom of the league.
He's a poor man's Mourinho with none of the charisma. Says he wants his teams to be aggressive and in control when in reality he wants to defend first and then counter. The joke there is that he can't even coach a good defence in the first place.

This is still relevant, even after the transfer window.
He complicates things so much by changing shape and approach every game. The players can't play their natural games because they're constantly having to think about what they're doing in any given game.
I think the players at the club expect to control matches and be on the front foot, forcing the opposition to adapt to them. Instead, they're being sent out to react to the opposition and sacrifice their strengths for the plan, and they don't like it.

Perfect description of the Bayern team under Kovac, too, btw
