About time I changed my signature in support for him. Hoping the team puts in the shift for him today he just needs to learn Cech and XHAKA aren't good enough for the team, then things will start going well.

I will say one thing that is satisfying to see tbh, and that is that young new signings are being played, for a change.
Guendouzi, young kid, signed, already two starts in the toughest league games of all.
Torreira, just arrived from the world cup, immediately gets meaningful minutes.
In the last years of Wenger, talents were bought and then never actually surfaced in the team at all.

On the ball he is though, Arsenal's biggest issue today was how uncomfortable they were on the ball. They were really struggled to get into midfield for much of the game.
They created chances once they did but it was a real struggle to get to that point and Emery clearly wants to play out from the back.

That's easy. Auba left, Laca central. Worked a charm last year and Auba doesn't mind at all so long as he can play with his mate.
Issue is, it's not doable against top teams and you need all 11 pitching in to defend. Unless we want Auba tracking a fullback all game there has to be compromise. And there's no way we can play without three midfielders with the quality we don't have in CM.

Meh that's not Cech's fault. Cech can pass to his CBs alright, it's up to them to move the ball quicker and develop patterns with the fullbacks and midfielders.

Because without a third midfielder we can't create. The gap between the mid and forward line would be too large with the personnel we have.

I kinda get the Cech thing, even if I don’t 100% agree but surely the same is valid for Bellerin and Lichtsteiner then? How can that melt start over a champion like Lichtsteiner? Even at his age he’s better in every part of the game.

He literally struggled everytime he was pressed.
He would usually pass it someone who was marked, don't get me wrong Arsenal's entire defense struggles with it not just Cech.
But I can see Leno coming in eventually purely because of how bad it is.
