Unai Emery a Reactive Coach
The positives=he instills very good passing , makes the midfield tight, made Valencia more physical in a way like real fighters
The negative, instead of dictating the game with the dominance of his side, he plays reactive... For example, they were on top when Valencia scored against Leverkusen, they immediatly parked the bus afterwards instead of finishing them off... :lol!: I could see this pattern a lot in their la liga games as well
When Leverkusen scored, instead of patiently dominating them again, they pushed too far forward to score again Leverkusen capitalized of course with their blitz counters
All in all, it's easier to force your own style on someone than trying to adapt to your opponent all the time. Valencia have clrealy the means to achieve that but their manager...

Beats Roberto "Sub in DMs when losing" Mancini, though.

Unai is a very good coach. Has never failed in the league so far with in his 7 sesons as professional and 3 clubs. However, he seems to be lacking in the other competitions.

Unai Emery has been sacked by Spartak Moscow just 5 months into reign. Lost 5-1 to Dinamo today & sit 6th in Russian league.

Yeah, but look at Pelegrino. With same team than Emery and they sit in midtable. Emery qualified them for CL every season...

Re: Unai Emery a Reactive Coach
Emery cannot be blamed for Spartak as he was given piss poor funding by board and had to deal with players who wouldn't even survive in the bottom half of the Liga. His mistake was overestimating their abilities and playing a system to which they could not as the squad is meant purely for counter-attacking. I genuinely hope he gets a solid job in back within the Premiera who have a long term project in mind unlike Spartak.
