Re: Yakuza series
Ah, I thought he was playing Kiwami. Then again, the Cabaret Club mini-game isn't in Kiwami.

Re: Yakuza series
Finished Yakuza 0, the story was fantastic. Did not get too convoluted like some of the other games did. Really felt like I was seeing birth of legends. Probably the best game of the series.

Thimmy wrote:I've been watching a few Yakuza 6 videos, and it looks fantastic! Improved graphics, more realistic combat system, more interactive stores and buildings that you can enter, and even being able to walk around on rooftops. I'll most likely get Yakuza: Kiwami, but what I'm really itching to play is Yakuza 6. Unlike Yakuza 0, Yakuza 6 has been developed specifically for current gen consoles, with updated tech and whatnot. I'm really looking forward to it's release.
I'm already itching to pre-order this game.

Re: Yakuza series
I really should play Yakuza 0. Ran Across this gem today:
Painfully accurate depiction of a date with a Japanese woman aside this is an obscure reference to Barry Jones in Shenmue II seen here:
The only way this happens is that since Shenmue 2 takes place in 1987, and Yakuza 0 takes place in 1988 is that Yuki had to have come into contact with Barry some time in 1986 when he was in Sapporo. This could possibly mean she was from Sapporo, and even her name(snow) gives a hint towards this
Yakuza/Shenmue same universe confirmed

I think it's fine. GOW games are usually quite short, and they're linear games so it usually doesn't take long to finish them once you've started on one. Will play Yakuza first

Re: Yakuza series
This one isn't, dev said it will take between 20-30 hours lol.
Really annoyed tbh, having them 3 days apart is not what i wanted. Also i feel like this could impact the sales and i want the game to do well

Yeah, but it's a linear game. I waste far too much time fooling around and doing side-activities in games like, Yakuza

I know Sega said that but it isn't true, i downloaded it before it was pulled a bunch of stuff you can't do because it says " not available in trial version".

Re: Yakuza series
https://www.dualshockers.com/yakuza-0-2-considered-shin-yakuza-details/
During a Yakuza event at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California, Producer Daisuke Sato provided some interesting information about the series.
Sato-san mentioned that Yakuza 0 is a game that is particularly beloved even within the Yakuza development team, so the idea of creating a Yakuza 0-2 (which would be set between Yakuza 0 and the first game of the series) has been bounced around among developers.
That being said, he did not confirm that such a game is in development, or planned for the future.
At the moment Sato-san is not in a position to reveal anything specific, but the project code-named Shin Yakuza that is currently in development will include new locations to visit.
The game is set after Yakuza 6, so there are “plenty of opportunities” for beloved characters from past games to appear.
At the moment we don’t have much information on Shin Yakuza, besides the fact that it will feature a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga.
We also hear that Ichiban is completely different from former protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. While Kazuma from the very beginning is well known, has a position, and the support of many friends, Ichiban doesn’t have any money, friends, position, or support. He is the lowest of the low in terms of the Yakuza hierarchy, and the story is also about where he goes from there.
Kazuma is a stoic and “stone-wall-like” character, while Ichiban is an emotional and outspoken person.
Funnily, Sato-san also mentioned that if Producer Katsushiro Harada would like to have Kazuma Kiryu in Tekken 7, they might think about it.

I went to the gym, and after a few squats and pull ups, my personal trainer adviced me to eat pizza lol. I can't even find a place where they sell pizza ffs. The dart game is more difficult now, even when sober
I haven't advanced in the story much, but that fat, Triad guy seems like an interesting character.

There's actually a *bleep* side quest about a *bleep* live chat room where actual models strip while you press a button combo to advance the conversation.
God the game is so weird.

Re: Yakuza series
I got my copy yesterday.
I love how it plays up this big drama but immediately gives you the option to:
a) go lift at the gym
b) chat up some girls in a chat room
c) go to Karaoke
Is it bad that Karaoke was the first thing I did?
It's also funny to me that if you press X to skip through the dialogue the animations skip forward.

I didn't even intend on doing that quest yet, but I was exploring the city and noticed a hidden path going out of a window and over to a different building, which ultimately lead me to the live chat area
