Perhaps we should have, you know, signed a back up DM so that if our starter had gotten injured or missed a certain amount of time, we'd be covered

Nah. Crazy talk. That would never work. One player gets injured you are screwed. Everyone knows that's how sports work

Have a feeling Arteta will be 'injured' for the rest of the season and then retire or move on.

Coquelin now out for three months, apparently.

Coquelin out for the season, in all likelihood.

Flamini's contract is due in the summer innit? He always beasts the 6 months before he walks away on a Bosman, iirc. Smile

He really hasn't been too bad this season in the brief glimpses we've seen of our little billionaire. Doesn't mean I'm at all happy we have to rely on him.

Now that Ramsey is back, who do you think is going to get injured? We should have an injury betting thread in our section. Winner takes (f)all. hmm

Teams news for Sunday:

No new injuries from the Zagreb game.

Chamberlain "could" be available.

On resting Alexis: "I will assess that later. It might not be the right time to rest him."

Ramsey returns from injury. Coquelin gets injured.

Oxlade returns from injury. Alexis gets injured.

My predictions for the new year:
Koscielny returns from injury. Mertesacker gets injured.
Wilshere returns from injury. Özil gets injured.
Welbeck returns from injury. Giroud gets injured.
Rosicky returns from injury. Cazorla gets injured.

Wenger: "We have three injuries. Cazorla played on one leg in the second half, he has a knee problem."

So why did you keep him on

on Alexis: "I would have rested him today but before the game he declared he was perfectly all right."

So why didn't you rest him anyway. You're the damn MANAGER

Meh at this point I have accepted it that our injury issue will never be gone till Arsene is gone. Nothing against him, but it's ridiculous how many muscular injuries our players get.

What is Koscielny's injury?
It looked like he was just touched on his kidney by a Norwich player's knee. So I'm thinking maybe a muscle strain in that region of his body. hmm

I know this type of stuff can happen I was just casually touched on my back one time in footy practice years ago, and a muscle there hurt for like a good few months. I couldn't believe it Laughing

Alexis and Cazorla set to miss the Sunderland and Olympiakos games, although initial signs on Koscielny are more promising.

So I guess Ramsey moves back into CM, with Ox and Campbell on either flank.

Looking forward to our goalless draw against Sunderland on Saturday.

I guess the one minor positive we get from this crisis is that we'll be able to play Oxlade-Chamberlain on the left flank which is where he is at his best.

But then it wouldn't surprise me if we lineup like:

Flamini - Arteta
Chamberlain - Ramsey - Özil
Giroud

Still can't believe Wenger's explanation that he played Alexis because he himself declared himself fit. There are obviously tests and scans to determine that but Wenger said that Sanchez also said he was fine.

If you have any doubt over that then don't play him. You're the manager, end of discussion. Especially at a club like ours and where the injuries come in bulk, why risk it? Why with the awful rotation. Gah.

At least November is out of the way. We never do well in that month for some reason.
