Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
GoonerJay29 wrote:Mostly, it's the mismanagement of player workload and failure to act on the warning signs. Players don't get injured because the medical team is poor - I've seen plenty say it's one of the best medical teams you could find in football - but because they don't get a chance to recover well enough.
Wenger suggested that playing for Wales against Andorra was the reason why Ramsey did his hamstring again, but if he knew he came back from international duty with a risk of injury, why did he play 90 minutes against Watford and then start against Bayern on top of that? Why wasn't he rested?
Walcott was thrown on against Sheff Wed without a warm-up. What were we thinking there?
And why did Ramsey play coz there was no adequate replacement as they were injured and why were they injured?...and the loop goes on.
AW explaining deadlock with football.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Walcott will be out longer than Chamberlain, and neither will return until after the next international break.
No other updates on players.
Jeff Reine-Adelaide has returned from international duty after France U17s were eliminated from the World Cup. Maybe he'll play a part in the coming weeks.

@raymondverheije
Here we go again! Ramsey, Walcott & Oxlade-Chamberlain out injured. I lost count. Has this pattern repeated itself 5 or 6 seasons already?
Wengers replay:
"I trust my medical staff to do well and my coaching staff to do the fitness planning very well.
"I can only invite you one day to see what work is done behind [the scenes]. We have some players who are more injury-prone than others, but we are very well organised on that front.
"We have to analyse every single case and every single exercise, but also I think you have to not over-analyse when players are injured.
"When a player is injured, they are injured, this has always happened.
"We have not too many muscular injuries but it is post-international games we get all these injuries and is it linked with that? I don't know. What I'm focused on tomorrow is to continue our run [in the Premier League]."

Wenger is not going to admit he is at fault for most of our injury problems.

It works like a charm, I don't think Gomis has scored since I put him up

Bellerin misses Bayern trip with a groin injury. Debuchy to start. Jeff Reine-Adelaide comes into the squad.
Might as well turn round and fly home if Debuchy is playing.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Shit.
I don't understand Debuchy, I mean there was a time when he was France's number 1 RB, even ahead of Sagna who is definitely better than him. I don't know if he still is even in the France squad, someone pls tell me. But clearly he did something right to deserve that praise and position, and Wenger didn't snatch him up in banter era so clearly Wenger also saw something in him, and I, even though Urban will disagree, thought he was pretty much stellar for the first few months in his Arsenal career before that injury which sidelined him for sometime. He came back of course, but then he got injured quite quickly again. So I don't know if it is those two injuries resulting in one could say - one long layoff that has turned him into utter faeces because since his recent comeback he has been a 100% liability, nothing else.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
His lengthy lay-off has clearly affected his recovery speed, and that makes his dodgy positioning all the more problematic. Add in his aggressive style of defending - that he always tries to win the ball back high up, always goes to close down - and you've got a guy frequently out of position who can't recover.
It effects his attacking play, too. He can't go forward as much now because he can't get back quick enough. Now he needs to pick his moments, like Monreal does.
Plus his confidence and form is practically non-existent right now, which never helps.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
The good news keeps coming: Hector Bellerin has been ruled out of the Spurs game. Koscielny "might" recover.
Current injury list:
Koscielny
Bellerin
Wilshere
Rosicky
Ramsey
Welbeck
Chamberlain
Walcott
Every god damn year

Time to get rid of all the injury-prone players. Every year just wasting a spot on the roster.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Some better news on the injury front came out last night:
Ospina is available for selection again after his shoulder injury.
Koscielny is expected to be fit for Sunday, though Wenger will leave it late to decide if he can play or not.
Arteta is also available after his recent problem.
Rosicky's specialists have given him the all clear to start running again. He's still not expected to return until January, but encouraging nonetheless.

Quite sure Koscielny was actually fit enough to play against Bayern lol. He will 100% start vs Spurs.
Ramsey can't return soon enough

Arsenal expect to have Bellerin, Ramsey & Chamberlain back for trip to West Brom
Walcott will most likely be back a week later imo. Really hope he is 'injured' for internationals.

Apparently Theo suffered a setback and is out till February. Any credibility to that claim?

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
A quick search for "Walcott" on Twitter shows nothing about a setback. We'll just have to wait and see if any decent news outlets come out with anything.
