Re: Arsenal Lobby
Giroud is a moron. While lt is to an extent a personal matter, personal matters effect your play and it seems football isn't the first thing on his mind and his head isn't always in the game. Doubt anyone can focus or have confidence/belief in themselves when you betrayed your wife and children like a total scumbag. A lot of that would explain his constant choking and horrible finish, honestly... Only way you could get over that without a hitch is if you didn't care/don't have a conscience
l facepalmed a lot because of his poor play, but l didn't hate him as a player because l felt like he was trying his best and wanted him to succeed.
Now l feel like l genuinely dislike him.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
personally, I'm not at all interested in judging him morally, and any direct link to his performance is mere speculation.
but it is a problem you can't really replace him, obviously even more of a problem than thought before, as unprofessional behaviour should have consequences.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Really guys? You don't feel like supporting him anymore?
Seriously as long as it doesn't affect his performances on the football pitch (which it hasn't btw), I couldn't care less who he or any other Arsenal player/coach shags. It's his personal life, leave it alone.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
This is one incident, c'mon guys. I personally think this was overblown in that it should have stayed between him and his wife and maximum involvement from Wenger because it was a team hotel.
But he's meant to be playing football, I wouldn't stop defending his football because he did something sh*tty. Look, if he makes it right with his family and doesn't let it affect him on the pitch, ie. scoring some goals, I think this'll get brushed under the rug.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Giroud needs to know his place, after this year he would not be starting for Arsenal or any other top team.
I feel bad for his wife.

I have had enough of this 'its his personal life, he can do what he wants' crap.
In today's day and age, we look for role models, heroes. People we look upto, people we want to emulate and people who we look to for inspiration.
And every professional athlete is a role model.
They represent hard work, dedication and passion. They represent the dreams and aspirations of the fans. They work every day to achieve goals they we cannot. They have to keep fit and positive, because if they aren't up to the mark, they suffer and we suffer.
People look up and idolise players. They represent the fans, they represent the club. They represent the past, present and future. When they win, we win.
So where in the hell is it okay to do things like cheat?
We cry out and call out players who cheat and don't act with a certain level of professionalism on the pitch. But off the pitch they are allowed to cheat and act unprofessional?
They are looked up to by millions of people, they can't go around doing stupid acts.
If someone had cheated who was not famous, we ridicule and make fun of them, even abuse them. We think ill of them. Why?
Because its wrong.
Every player speaks so much about morals and being good, doing right, staying dedicated.
So when they do things like this, all what the have said before sounds like a load of crap to me.

Giroud never said anything about morals, just playing football. Athletes are just athletes, they shouldn't provide you with a moral compass in their personal life because they are just people.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I don't understand why people get worked up for footballers not being good role models, they're terrible role models.
Some of them racially abuse other players, they fight each other, they *bleep* each others wifes, some cheat on and off the pitch etc... if you just convince yourself that footballers aren't GOOD role models and shouldn't be viewed as such then it'll be much easier for you.
If you want a role model treat a top fireman, or a successful scientist as one, not a freakin footballer.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I Agree, I am surprised more of them don't get caught tbh, in most sports they do it and many of their GF or wife's know and don't go public.urbaNRoots wrote:I don't understand why people get worked up for footballers not being good role models, they're terrible role models.

nah I don't need footballer role model, just a professional one who don't *bleep*/cheat in a team hotel prior a game, and had some nerve to drop team name, fans and everyone else in his apology again 5 hours prior an important game. Work that mess out with your wife in your own time and in private.

I agree about that, I'm sure Wenger will fine him for breaking the rules and Giroud definitely could use better PR advisers
