He really wasted two golden opportunities to extend his relevance at the top levels of football when he rejected PSG and Portugal's offers. He's still a great tournament coach and with a team like PSG his tactics will never be exposed in a non-competitive league like Ligue 1.

Was PSG ever on the cards for him? As well established as his name may be among managers, he’s also synonymous with a «negative» approach to how football should be played, and I can only imagine the shit storm that would develop at PSG as a result of that, not to mention how he tends to treat players that he’s not satisfied with for whatever reason. Seems like a bit of a mismatched manager to pursue from PSG’s point of view.

PSG were and still are just desperate to win the Champions League, they would've loved to have Mourinho. A proven CL winner like him would have easily been their most elite hire. We're talking about a team that hired the provincial Galtier to coach Messi and Neymar

Sources close to PSG linked him to the job multiple times between his second stint at Chelsea and Spurs. It was actually he who publicly distanced himself from the job. He clearly thought he had plenty of years left in the top leagues and probably thought the French League was beneath his ambitions at that point.

Lol, where else could he go at this point as he is beneath Roma but to the Turkish league it seems.
