Re: Arsenal Lobby
Waited on the damn time counter for the last 4 hours on the Puma live stream. Then, at 0:00:00, it says 'Starting Soon' for a minute
Then, there is another 15 minute counter with just audio blah blah on Arsenal and Puma.
And all this when the world already knows what the kit looks like

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I don't expect a lot either, just hoping he is a surprise revelation or something. I want us to improve that area of the game, we have had a few defenders that aren't really comfortable playing ball and midfielders that don't want to come deep and get on it if our opponents apply pressure. Way too much directness and long balls in the last years for my liking. Signing debuchy may be a step in the right direction

This may well be the earliest we've ever been written out of a top four finish:

He'll be predicting a Liverpool top 4 finish at Arsenal's expense even if they get relegated to League Two.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Liverpool finished 2nd last year and they should be title favourites along with City and Chelsea. There is nothing wrong with that
but At least Owen could have said "It's going to be unpredictable" which IS a fair answer and a logical one. Because you don't know how Liverpool will react to no Suarez or how United will bounce back or how we will do if we fail to start strong or whatever

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I definitely don't think it's at all smart to so confidently leave us out when we haven't lost a huge player and have actually invested in one we need.
Whereas Liverpool sold the one who carried them to 2nd and have been basically trying to metamorphose into Southampton. One season in 2nd doesn't guarantee anything especially when the previous 4 were 6-8th.
Too early to call it for anyone, the window isn't even half over.

As lazy and inaccurate an argument at Owen's, to be fair.

Although Liverpool fans don't see it the same way, and rightly so, I wouldn't call that a lazy argument. Inaccurate, probably.
Fact is, it is not realistically possible for everyone to know everything about every club. Heck, people don't even know about their own clubs sometimes, leave alone rivals. That doesn't mean they are making lazy assumptions - they are making conclusions based on what they know and read.
And while fans have lives and careers outside football too, it is not unreaonable to expect that a person who has played a majority of his career in England and is now working on television for a living, be informed and not make hasty and inaccurate statements.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
It IS lazy though, as even the most basic, cursory fact checking proves that it is inaccurate. If you want to complain about one person making predictions it only stands to reason that you'd do even the simplest research to ensure your own efforts stand up to basic scrutiny. To not do so, and simply trot out tired, repetitive one-liners as the reason is the easiest, shortest means to an end... the very definition of lazy.

So are you denying the fact that Suarez was an important part of Liverpool's amazing season? That, in effect, was the message I got from MJ's post.
Also, basic cursory fact checking just shows that Liverpool is doing what Tottenham did last season by selling one of their star players for a bucketload of money and then reinvesting that to strengthen the squad by dividing the resource into multiple players.
Basic, cursory fact checking also indicates that Liverpool are buying the players who performed with Soton last season and there are still 1-2 Soton players linked.
Unless you mean a more detailed investigation into Liverpool's tactics, Rodger's philosophy and transfer plans - which is already beyond some of the Liverpool fans in the forum, judging by the mixed reactions in the General Section by Liverpool fans towards the Suarez sale.
