Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
Ive been saying for a while now Man City are looking very poor. This game highlighted it, so surprised to see PEllegrini field 2 strikers vs a virtual 6 midfield and just got owned.
Silva and Negredo changed the game when they came on, but Bayern also relaxed.
I just hope things are improving and that it was Bayern, and that Man City will do ok in the league.... and hopefully get through the GL group!

Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
This is pretty typical Pelle... his teams will look beautiful eventually. But he will lay a tactical egg in some of the worse times.
What's interesting to me is that Pelle won with Malaga because of a great technical midfield. At city, he has a bunch of CFs and wingers... the midfield is good technically, but not great.
He's going to have to change or adapt his tactics imo.
I also sense that there's a lot of players on City that think they're much better than they actually are.

Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
To be honest and not to take anything away from bayern, all three of their goals were directly down to the mistake of joe hart. And yes bayern were dominating, but hart should be doing much better, he's acting as if he is a English league one goalie, I know if he puts his focus in he can be truely remarkable but is not doing that.

Takes time to implement that 4-2-2-2.

LOL, some of the comments in this thread are down right ignorant.
Maybe if Pelle was some mid-tier coach or something like that. But to question the pedigree of this man and this collection of talent has been again down right ignorant.

And this was one loss early in the season, they'll be fine.
It's ridiculous to think otherwise
Still gotta wait to see the CL though

He is meant to coach small teams like Villareal/Malaga, not ones with UCL aspirations.

not sure if trolling, but Barca will have no problems beating this team, even if they probably are in their worst form since 08.

Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
Most overrated manager in the past 3 years. Noticing a trend that he only chooses money clubs to build success which conceals his complete lack of tactical depth or surface level system. Builds attacks wonderfully yet is out of his depth when faced against an organized defence. Speaking of defence, how he ignores the gap between the midfield and defence has been something he has not addressed for years now in any of his teams.
Outclassed by Jose for the umpteenth time which pains me even more.
Class man and entertaining manager yet quite a shallow tactician.

Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
Starting Negredo and Dzeko was ridiculous
Any 12 year old kid who's played fifa could tell you that's a bad idea.
Dzeko is a clown and that partnership even with an in-form Dzeko was destined to fail. Jovetic - Negredo from the beginning would have been much better.

Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
In Pellegrini's mind: He is calculating the net-worth both players cost instead of congruent semantics that haven't worked, yet he is too thick for that.
Getting obvious by the month who they actually need for this teams.

Gigi ffs
If we gave him £500,000,000 he'd still be here leading us to top 3 finishes ffs.

Re: Pellegrini gone by Christmas?
Surely he should have seen that Chelsea would be dangerous on the break all game. There were warning signs early on yet he is still allowed his team to play in all attack mode

Please City play Dzeko and Negredo against us again, please
Even we might be able to get around that midfield.

He had no money in Villarreal, and he took them to a CL semifinal. Then he did something similiar at Malaga, once again, a club with almost no money(had to sell a couple of key players because of that), and he took them to a quarter-final in the CL.

he's made to coach small teams. flopped at Madrid, and will flop at City too.
