I was optimistic, but after that showing vs Cardiff, Im not.

That defense and the players non-motivation and clueless defending especially for that first goal, I couldnt beleive what I was watching. One thing I Worry about Pelle is his defensive set up. It was pretty good at Malaga but bad at Real? So I wasnt sure. But if u watch the way MAn C defended b4 they conceded the first goal u would be worried. That left side defensively is weak as usual as and Yaya had to cover so much. Clichy is never great defending and Lecott is not good enough. Him together with Garcia was just terrible! 2 big slow clueless CBs lol!

I thought MAn C needed strengthening in the CB and this confirms it....

One off result hopefully but its not looking like Man C will be the favourites if they dont sort out the defense.

Pellegrini likes two inverted wingers and has never played with traditional wingers tho so I am more suprised with Navas starting than anything else

even the 2 striker formation is an odd one. It's uncharacteristic of Pelle so far. i hope he isnt overthinking it.

Kompany is out for 3 months, looking at their back four at the moment you fear for them. Apart from Zabaleta the rest are average defensively, I think Pellegrini will have to adopt a "we will outscore you approach" for the next few months until they can get Kompany fit.

i love Pelle, but im not gonna defend the mess he is making there, just terrible. They play without an idea of what they are trying to accomplish, they could win this game on sheer attacking potential but their issues run too deep atm.

And i didnt even mention the defense Kolarov is not a fullback. No CB can pick the other one up, and Hart looks shakier than a virgin.

I agree that the teams looking like a mess still, indidivual wise they are obviously good, but tactics wise they look a bit lost. Good thing we have Silva linking things up cos the others just arent making it happen. Fernandinho looks good and Im quite impressed so far. I just hope he can help Yaya to domiate the middle vs the top teams. Yaya';s freekick btw!!!

But this Hull side was very poor and Man C struggled. Im very worried.... Navas seem a bit one dimensional, opponents just blocks his route on the outside and hes stuck.

A big question now is Dezko or Negredo? Negredo has that Spainish chemistry more so than Dezko with their teammates it seems and faster in general.... I would still like to see Dezko more.... it seems like they will rotate a lot.

At least Nastavic and Kolarov looked much much better in the back 4 compared to the last game. But again, its was Hull and Man C are no where near convincing.

Yea it was ridiculous that he played with that, with toure and fernandinho as their dm, i would start silva in the hole from the start and play with one striker (aguero), and when negredo comes one, aguero could've moved to the left. Hope pelle learns from his mistakes but so far he is making too many too fast. Silva, their best player didn't even come on till the 70 the minute and that's when city started making some type of noise.

He won't be gone by Christmas, to reply to the topic. Just like most other teams in the PL with new managers, it will take some time to get his combinations right and understand his players' strengths/weaknesses.

That said, Pelle has been a manager who I have admired and tactical failures from him, like tonight, are pretty inexcusable.

Horrible tactics and adjustments today.

Didnt do anything, when after 10 minutes it was clear Bayern having 3 men vs City's 2 in midfield is creating clear domination.

On top of that, zero high pressure making Dante and Boateng's passes into the free midfield man easy.

Sure, you can say the first 2 goals are individual errors but City's tactics gave them zero chance to get a result.

He didnt adjust anything till half time and then it was simply asking Aguero to pick up the deepest man of Bayern midfield. Fair enough, but asking him to do that only saps his offensive potential.

Ive been saying for a while now Man City are looking very poor. This game highlighted it, so surprised to see PEllegrini field 2 strikers vs a virtual 6 midfield and just got owned.

Silva and Negredo changed the game when they came on, but Bayern also relaxed.

I just hope things are improving and that it was Bayern, and that Man City will do ok in the league.... and hopefully get through the GL group!
