Sigh, losing Podolski in return for Draxler is illogical. There's no point going after Draxler just because he's an apparent talent. We need a GK, DM & FW. Imho, Ox and Draxler are cut from the same cloth.

Draxler isn't a necessity!!!

LMFAO this has to be a troll comment?, dude ox doesnt even have 20% of draxter's talent. draxter is on the naymar, goetze, thiago level. ox is decent but not on draxter's level. if draxter come in he will be a starter IMMEDIATELY and will be a clear upgrade to our forward line.

I really want Draxler, but letting Poldi go is stupid.

However, if (and I say 'if') Schalke want Poldi as part of the deal...

). If that's all we're going to do, we should have just signed Toure and made it a trio of free agents.

He isn't quite on that level, but he's certainly close. Even though its not a position of need, it is a need for the team. He can be a star here, and we really don't have a star player, or at least a star on the level that we are used to.

And signing Draxler doesn't mean we can't also sign a DM, or a GK or defender as well.

We will only have *ONE* senior natural winger for more than 2 months, how come we don't need another one? We're so thin there it's not even funny anymore. Cazorla and Walcott that's what we have right now.

As unlikely as it sounds - 1 central forward, 1 winger and a GK is what I expect us to sign.

Apparently Kaka's only a backup option if we can't secure our main target, who I assume will be Draxler.

Anyone follow Rodrigo at Benfica? There have been rumblings about him moving, maybe to an English club, over the last few transfer windows. I kind of wonder if he'll pop up somewhere (Arsenal even?) as a deadline day transfer. But maybe I've missed reports that indicate he's going to stay. I don't know. Just a thought, no rumors or anything - aside from the fact that newspapers have linked the guy to Arsenal in the past. His versatility could make him a decent fit.

He's their main striker now, afaik, since Cardozo has been pushing for a move all summer and has fallen out of favour.

I assume di Maria is our first target and we're trying to convince him to come, then Draxler if di Maria can't be convinced and Kaka as backup option if Schalke don't agree to sell. We need to be careful though, Milan and another Italian club are all over Kaka right now according to El Confidencial.

Hopefully we get one of these 3, although I'm not a fan of old Kaka.

If we're still at the point where we still need to convince the player to join then I can't see us getting him. Madrid will have to say "sorry, we don't think we need you anymore" and I don't think they will, especially if the player is willing to stay.

It's difficult to see us pushing through a deal for Draxler at this stage, too. I'd be more confident if he were pushing for a move but that doesn't seem to case. Schalke can stand firm on this one.

As for Kaka, wages could be an easy stumbling block for both us and Milan.

Could be a case of much ado about nothing on Monday, unfortunately.
