Re: Gareth Bale discussion
why would benzema move to the left? he's not a left winger/left forward....there was a time for france when he hugged unto the left hand side so much (for whatever reason) that it was detrimental to his play, i think at euro 2012. he's not moving to lw, it doesn't make much sense to ask him to make such a shift, not on paper nor in reality...i could be wrong, but i just don't see that happening, nor do i see the necessity in asking the cf to start playing out wide

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
I'm going with the assumption Zidane is gonna use the same formation he used against Atletico i.e the 4-4-1-1 (or 4-4-2). Ronaldo is definitely the starter CF bar injuries and more than likely Isco is gonna be given the free role. Modric and either Kovacic or Casemiro is the 2 midfielders. Lucas would be on the right more than likely so that leaves the left hand side.
Yes, I am well aware Benzema isn't a left sided anything but I can't pretend that that Zidane won't try to shoehorn him in the starting line up.

I think it's Ronaldo and Benz up top and Isco on the left and when Casemiro gets back we may well get back to playing 433 again with Lucas in the front 3 to provide defensive solidity

Out for the season. I hope to see Asensio in his spot, think he will reach his potential.

Val, that story supposedly reported by AS that Bale is out until April appears to be Bocus! No other Spanish paper reported it and it's no where to be found today in AS.

Even if he'll be back in March as the initial reports suggested, that is still out for the season.

Bale on the market? I don't know, I reckon we can keep him for the foreseeable future even with Mbappe. Also, if that actually happens, Benny definitely has Madrid by the balls.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
i don't think we can actually, if you put him into some kind of rotation, his agent will start complaining again.
Bale thinks of himself highly, with reason, we signed him with a certain expectation which he is aware of. Has he delivered? he did, but he did not become this top3-5 monster player Perl had in mind. And with his injuries, Perez should be smart not to have another Kaka situation on hands, although i think he is way more marketable to the EPL now than Kaka in his time.

That would be reserved for Benzema at this point.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
I'll be frank. I don't see a future for him here unless he stays fit and shows something. Benzema only has a better chance of staying because he actually stays fit and actually performs much to the chagrin of his detractors.
Expectations not really met and he's gone for too long. Hopefully this season he actually stays fit but i wouldnt hold my breath.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Bale could be suspended for up to 12 games for his gesture against the Atleti section. If that happens it's pretty much curtains for him as a first team player. No way Solari plays him when he cant gain match fitness in the league games

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Yes, I knew they were going to pick up on that as soon as I saw the gesture.
Anyhow, Marca is saying that the punishment won't be as bad as previously thought:
Bale should go, along with others as well. But who am I kidding? I know nothing is gonna happen. Expect the same lineup next season.

About Bale, I think it would be better for him and us if we parted ways at the end of the current season. I'm sure he would do well in the PL, but Madrid should really start thinking about their next project and stop milking the last droplets of talent from the dying golden generation.Marca wrote:The complaint will not be heard by judge Carmen Perez, who is the sole judge in charge, until next week but everything points to little being done other than a fine for Bale.

I’d be really surprised if he got anything close to 12, but he really should go. Don’t think he will but a man can dream.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
You know what's the most baffling thing about my thoughts on Bale: I should be infatuated with him. He scored the winner in the CDR vs Barcelona, the winner vs Atleti in the CL, his brace was the game winning goals vs Liverpool in the CL, he should be walking on water in my mind but I cannot stand him. At all.
Meanwhile, whenever Ramos does a stupid thing which is a natural occurrence, I remember his glancing header, bottom right hand corner of Conetois' goal and all is forgiven.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Because Ramos plays with heart. Bale doesn't care.
Scoring 4-5 important goals per season and being shat for the rest of the games. and by shat i mean really shat.
He is playing some awful football right now. No link up, no good passing, no dribbling.... even his shooting is bad right now. and on top of that he is injured all the time.
dude is almost 30. will not get better until he changes his mentality and loses some weight. he is too heavy imo.

Bale faces threat of 12-game ban for 'obscene' Real Madrid goal celebration
Good or bad ? Increases our chances for the league but we'll lose the CL because he is going to play ever game in Europe

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
He won't get 12, but obviously it's bad. We can't afford to be short on players, particularly ones who step up in big games. And say what you will about Bale (I do too), he scores decisive goals.
Also, if he is out for an extended period, he can't be in the shop window, just sayin'.

tbh bale looks like hes lost interest in football. could be that hes won everything and is a very rich man so he has nothing left to motivate him.

Won everything? Did you see Barça? They have won as many CLs as Madrid between 2006 and 2014 and have been winning the league almost every year, and yet their abundant success doesn't seem like it's affecting their motivation. Why's that?
The reality is, Madrid sucks because the players they are fielding are either not good enough or way past it, and (mainly) their president is being cheap and doesn't want to spend on quality signings.
That's the sad truth. Won everything my ass, we're getting our asses handed to us weekly, but it's ok because we've won three CLs in a row and 2 league titles in the last decade.
