I just don't get why we persist so much to sign him, it's not like Bale is the 2nd coming of jesus.

Lets hope we don't get bale...no need match barca because they got neymar..Perez needs to grow up and realize that the star purchase doesn't always work...at this moment we are good enough to match barca and win la liga...with better luck we could win the cl too..we made the signed players in the key areas we need.
So bale stay enjoy London for another yr lol

Well he is seen as the second coming of Donaldo. So yea. I really want to know what goes through Florentino's head tbh.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
If the Spurs want to keep Bale, it's their absolute right. Madrid should stay out of it. We should only get involved if Bale and Spurs agree on an exit scenario... and only after.
We've made it clear to Bale that we would want him if he's available. We're done as far as what we should do at this point.

Spurs are raping us for the price lol last report says we offered 98.3 mil euros. I wouldn't even pay that for Ronaldo lol. Not even talking about the tatical problems he adds. Why don't we ever learn

Meh, it's Tottenham. They are building a team that is still gonna finish behind Arsenal for whatever reason. Though I must admit, I have no idea what Real Madrid sees in Bale that is worth the chase.

Perez is obviously intimidated and scared at all these nouveau riche clubs throwing mega bucks around. He thinks it undermines RM's position in the upper echelons of world football. It doesn't. We know the club can compete financially with the likes of Man City and PSG, it doesn't mean the clown has to pay over the top for players like they do. RM has a prestige that these clubs can't buy that itself is enough to attract top drawer talent.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Madrid bought its prestige over the years. In fact, so did Milan, Chelsea, Juve, etc. Just because it happened in the 50s, the 80s, etc., doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Many of the current elite clubs that are a "traditional powerhouse" were a "nouveau riche" club at some point.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Yea like sports has said...our prestige shouldn't be about money...all the players have to look is the patch with 9 and the cl trophy to see that our club is unique. Madrid has an aura that not many other clubs have have. Perez just wants madrid to be talked about constantly even during the off season so yea but this would be a burden for the next 6 seasons or how many yrs we want to sign bale.

85-100 million? They could've bought Gotze/Thiago and Moura for that price.

LOL.
This is just finding a reason to defend your beloved PSG
Chelsea bought their prestige.Milan to an extent. Not the other two.Juve have a century long history with the Agnelli family. You cant compare them to what PSG and City are doing today.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Monaco was a massively successful club too prior to the current ownership...
Juve were very successful prior to the 80s. But then they decided to buy the entire Italy NT and the most expensive foreign players around. They were completely irrelevant in Europe before that.
PSG have spent well and have been fairly successful in Europe over the past 30 years. I mean, 1 UEFA cup, 8 French Cups, 2 Ligue 1, CL semis and a dozen other finals appearances in various competitions (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_Saint-Germain_Football_Club) since 1982 doesn't make them a bad club. Qatar just pushed them into European relevancy and maybe the elite.
To me, the clubs that literally started from nothing or very little and became a good club just because of cash are City, Malaga and Chelsea. I mean each of these clubs had 5 total trophies or less in their history prior to the big money.

Eh?
Firstly, AS Monaco weren't massively successful.
Secondly, Chelsea were perhaps not title contenders before RA arrived but they had a history of cup success domestically and on the continent and had more than 5 titles to their name.

Milan before Berlusconi had 10 Sccudetto, 2 European Cups and a lot more trophies and legends like Rivera, Altafini, Nordahl, Liedholm, Cesare Maldini, Lorenzo Buffon, Dino Sani, Grenn, Schnellinger I could go on and on. So yeah they had a lot of prestige, sports defending his beloved QSG as usual.

Exactly why i think they shouldn't sell this summer, who are they going to get? they will just overpay for decent players like with Soldado.
Waste of time, keep him for another year and try and get CL and go from there.
If you don't qualify for the CL then so be it, take the hit and move on but at least give yourselves the best possible chance to qualify for CL and replace him with top quality players.

Bale may not be 'demand' that much money next year.. Spurs should take the money while they can, but I hope that they're stupid enough to not do so since I don't think he is needed

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Monaco record:
7 Ligue 1 titles
5 French cup titles
1 time CL finalist
2 time CL semi finalist
1 time UEFA cup finalist and 1 time semi finalist
1 time cup winner's cup finalist
Also finished second in Ligue 1 5 times and reached the final of the French cup an additional 5.
They are considered the third most successful team in french history after OM and St Etienne. Lyon is 4th.
Chelsea? check it out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_F.C. They had close to nothing before Abra. I don't think even 5 major titles. I see 2 FA and 1 EPL. That's it.
