Tottenham is one club. They produce only so many players we actually want. Then, when we come for them, Levy is incredibly difficult.
I wouldn't hurt us, it would direct us toward more pliable clubs, and better value targets.
On the other hand lets see them get what they want from United or any other club.

According to the BBC (as reliable as it gets), Spurs have rejected a 98.5 mil offer by Madrid for Bale.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23490932
But Bale is applying monstrous pressure and is refusing to play so far.

Madrid don't make written offers unless both sides are mostly agreed. Part of Flo's "keep good relationships with everyone" policy. Making a written offer when the other side is refusing to sell is antagonistic.Yohan Modric wrote:The BBC link says there's yet to be an offer for Bale.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Levy is too obsessed about keeping an image of being this negotiations guru that he routinely fails to improve his squad as a result.
If he were smart he'd take the money and run. The longer this drags out the less time he'll have to strengthen the squad with all the money Madrid will drop on him.
For Madrid the money is not an issue, mostly because that money will come back and bring friends. Spurs are getting a generous deal here but hopefully they remain stubborn to the point where we cut off relations with them. I'm tired of how they conduct business.

pls be quiet. Why the hell should he sell if he doesn't want to. Get a grip lol. Wow, Madrid cuts off business with spurs, do you think Levy gives a toss?
The bloody arrogance here...unbelievable...

I don't have to sell a plot of land for twice what it is worth and reinvest somewhere else but I more than likely would do so. It's just good business sense mate, business sense that Levy doesn't seem to have if you ask me.

Levy is attempting to construct a team that challenges for accolades and success. Selling Spurs best player undermines that objective.
It's typical arrogance being displayed here by "fans" of top teams who think they have some God given right to buy who they want from where they want and anyone resisting is a fool.
Perez is a corrupt, morally bankrupt scumbag and I applaud Levy for trolling him and Real Madrid.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Suprs are a small club who with or without Bale won't win the league unless they get a City/Chelsea style takeover. Barring that an FA cup run is the closest they'll get to real silverware.
If it's the CL they want then 90 million euro could go a long way to getting that. Arsenal have no superstars on their team yet make the CL thanks to them having a competent squad. Spurs could have that if they want or they could keep Bale and see where that leads them. He won't be signing any extension from now on either so next summer he won't be worth 90 million, likely much less than that if Spurs don't make it to the CL.
It's not about arrogance or whatever the fck you guys are crying about. As if Real Madrid isn't light years ahead of a poverty club like Spurs anyway. It's about knowing how to build a team and I don't think Levy knows what he's doing when it comes to that. Like you said though he doesn't have to sell if he doesn't want to.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
It seems like arrogance when you lambast Levy for how he does business, when all he actually is doing is refusing to sell to you...he aint trying to do any business.
You speaking as if they are trying sell and just being pricks about it. Thats not whats happening.

Spurs are a selling club. They'll sell, only question will be how much. 90 million now or much less later down the line.

Spurs don't need the money though. If they wanted to spend £85m on players they could do that with or with the sale of Bale.
I can't help but laugh at the irony of RM fans bemoaning the way Levy conducts his business, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with, when RM's business practices are utterly abhorrent.
And calling them a poverty club is hilarious they're owned by billionaires and don't demand government handouts to bail them out of the red.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
If he doesn't want to sell, god bless, he has that right.
I just think it's about time we forget about him because there's obviously never going to be a time where he will deal. We'll not get good value, nor will we get who we want when we want him. So forget about Levy for good.
When Bale goes, let's see what he goes for if we ain't interested. When they need a CL quality player, let them look somewhere other than our bench.
Prefer to deal with Napoli and Benitez from now on
On a side note, I didn't want Bale for any price. Levy is doing us a favor. But, I don't want to see time wasted in the future when we actually want someone from Tottenham. It's not going to go smoothly, don't bother. Get someone else.
