Gareth Bale transfer saga
Maybe this should be merged with: http://www.goallegacy.net/t31927-i-hope-bale-quickly-leave-tottenham
Anyway, it's being reported that Real Madrid have offered an insane amount of £86m or €100m for Bale and Tottenham have refused it, apparently angering Bale.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/27/gareth-bale-real-madrid-tottenham-hotspur
The Guardian reporting that Bale is fighting for a move and is distraught at Tottenham.
Although I usually have little sympathy for players who try to force their way out despite being under contract, here I can totally understand Bale being mad at Levy & co. The bid is very, very acceptable and respectful and who wouldn't choose Real Madrid over Tottenham?
Tottenham should have accepted it. I keep Levy in high regard, but if he's trying to get even more money for Bale then he's just being greedy. We'll see how this goes, but it's difficult to imagine that Tottenham could keep a player from joining Madrid.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Can't believe they didn't accept that bid.
Bale will never be worth more than that. I imagine the same thing will happen to Bale that happened with Modric. Hell leave anyway but for a lot less.
I also don't understand Madrid's interest. He does not fit into the team at all. Or at least he doesn't fit in for nearly 90 million. Hell be a monumental flop if he goes there.
Bale should just either go to United or just stay at Spurs.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
They wont get a bid higher than that, Bale isnt even worth half the amount, Levy is being too greedy. With that money they can invest in a wc striker, replace Bale with a talented winger and still have enough leftover to add more depth

Why is Levy being greedy if he wants more money for Bale? He knows Perez will pay the amount he wants.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
All the money from sales is going towards one big bid for Bale it seems.
They've already made 60m.They can cough up atleast 40-45m by selling Coentrao and Di Maria.I'm sure there's going to be plenty of takers for both of them especially the latter.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
saw people saying even 60m would be a ridiculous valuation of him..I agree
nuts. I'd love him at Utd, looks like he's set on Madrid.
If that was their first/second bid then I can't blame Levy, he's knows what he's doing. Will milk them for double what he's worth.
I really hope they spend the money well, no real top forwards left on the market though.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Perez is a idiot. He is going to hand in 100m to Spurs for someone who might even flop for us
He is not that established of a player for us to pay more than we payed for CR. If he was ready to pay a 100mil I'd rather he payed for Neymar when he was available instead of Bale aswell

Unnecessary transfer. He's worth no more than £40-45m.

Perez and Levy are both stupid, Perez for offering that much and Levy for turning the offer down.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Levy isn't stupid IMO.
Why sell your best player when you are not in the CL?
Who are they going to attract? No matter how much they throw they are never going to get top level players while in EL.
Keep him another year try and get CL and then sell.
You will probably get a smaller offer then but who cares you will have CL money and you can attract a better quality of player instead of rejects.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Mole is right. If they reach CL next season it will be worth it. They're basically getting rejected by every striker in the market right now so they wouldn't be able to replace Bale's goalscoring aswell

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
If they don't make CL can we just chop Bale's value in half. I mean, the idea that he carries Tottenham is already ridiculous, but if all he can carry them is to a 5th place finish, what is it really worth.

Risk you take.....but most of that money atm would go on players which are not really good enough.
Would rather try and get CL and then sell when you can actually replace him properly.

bale might not get this chance again. perez might find his new toy he will go after and bale will have to stay at spurs something which I am sure he doesn't want to do if they keep missing out on cl
