Now Wenger can officially talk to Suarez and tell him he needs to put in a transfer request if he's really interested to join Arsenal.

A transfer request and a bid close to £50m will make it happen, that's what James from Echo is saying and he's highly reliable according to Liverpool fans.

Finally things are moving, we either sign him or not.

On the other hand we've really bid £40m for a player, that alone is like a new signing

Its not that new though.... couple of years ago Swansea's Neil Taylor had a similar clause that we met ( obviously smaller fee) we agreed terms with the player but not with Swansea and then he signed a new contract and rest is history

Its worrying because no matter what happens, this potential transfer is going to take a long enough time for Madrid and any other team to sneak in and show interest, in which case, our chances of getting him decline dramatically.

Hopefully we can rebound quickly and make a much improved bid tomorrow to get the ball rolling ASAP.

Barca owe us 10-15 million for Cesc and still owe us for Song (lol)

Technically we paid compensation for Dan Crowley.

Who knows what'll happen at this point. Nobody thought Wenger would bid £20mil, let alone £40mil. He may well decide to go all in for all we know.

Italian media claim Roma director Walter Sabatini has flown out to complete the €8m swoop for Arsenal’s Gervinho.

Their interest in the striker has been clear for several weeks and according to Calciomercato.com a deal could be imminent.

All our cash is self-generated, at least.

Part of me thinks that having come this far, we may as well go all the way. It's a stupid amount of money but hey, at least we can actually spend that much and not worry about financial meltdown.

At the same time, there's still a lot of doubt over this whole saga; whether other clubs will come in for him, whether Arsenal will try and be too clever over the price, whether they will go up to £50mil... long way to go until this one settles.
