Transfer Rumours

Buying a forward was not the last thing we needed right now. Against the best teams our offense was embarrassing and someone to help Messi out up front who wasn't completely useless was something that needed to get done. Props getting that done, but now we need to move to other areas.

Defense is arguably an even higher priority that has failed to be addressed yet. It needs to be quickly.

I don't know if someone said this just a bit ago, but never underestimate the value of a good preseason for players to get settled and into a rhythm with their team mates. Especially in a team like Barca. Some players can slot right in, yes. Some have more trouble, that's what the preseason is for.

Unfortunately the board doesn't see it that way I guess and are waiting a bit longer than needed...

If only I could tell them to take a look at Tottenham. Levy is infamous for his deadline day deals. Dempsey took until December to properly fit in. Holtby came in the January window and didn't fit right in. If either of them had a proper preseason it's arguable things would have been a lot more smooth for both (obviously Holtby's case is different but it works here)

I disagree, the only disgrace we've shown was our defence, sometimes our midfield because of lack of rotation and fatigue.

It's okay if we score 0 goals against Bayern Munich, that's not embarrassing.. it sucks but it's a top team, getting scored on 7 times against them though is rather shocking.
not only that the 2012/13 season was one where we got scored the most upon whereas we almost broke goal scoring records as a team that season.
I agree our forwards could of used an improvement such as Neymar but we could of managed the 13/14 season without him.. without loaning out deulofeu, and rotating pedro / sanchez / tello.
With our keeper for sure leaving, our defence is self explained and now an old playmaker with no proper backup.
So that's what I meant by buying a forward was literally the least important buy and our only buy this summer as it stands mid July.

Also what is this crap of PSG wanting to buy Barca players.. lol who could they possibly want.

The issue was that it proved the way to shut us down. Milan did it the first match as did allot of teams towards the 2nd half of the season. You close down Messi and bunker down and counter and you can beat us. I think before we had a healthy Villa or an inform Pedro which would force teams to break up there defense because we had so many weapons. But when it was just Messi doing everything, it became rather simple for the big clubs to lock us down. Gettign Neymar to help out was absolutley essential. Its going to even help Pedro/Alexis on the right score more with all the attention Neymar and Messi will now get. Its a great move. The problem is the back line. No clue why the club thinks Mascherano and old Puyol can take care of things the whole season

At this point I have to say go all out for Koscielny. I don't know how good Sakho is so I can't comment, but I would offer 27 million to 30 million for Koscielny at this point.

We desperately need a CB and the market is going dry of top class CB's.

Thing is, I can't see Arsenal selling. It will take a great sum to have Arsenal part with Koscielny.

Unless you can unsettle Koscielny at Arsenal, something Barcelona do on a yearly basis with Arsenal players.

Apparently PSG also want David Luiz, the "top" centerbacks are running out and we're going to be left with another midfield converted into centerback.. or worse Adraino.

Thiago Silva has said repeatedly he doesn't want to leave and yet that's the only target we are linked to.

30-40m to get Arsenal selling. They pretty much hate selling to us so we need to pay at least this amount to get them interested...
Sakho will cost less than that but for sure he should also be considered, much much better option than half of the players we are intersted in plus he will definately be going with Marquinhos and possibly Luiz coming through...
Inigo Martinez could be an option but honestly I rate Bartra higher than this kid and Bartra isn't even getting minutes for us so I doubt Martinez will be a starter in competitive games for us.
Agger, Hummels, Kompany and Vertoghen are pretty much now unrealistic...

Why are any of those unrealistic? Money talks. I'd be happy with Agger, Vert or Kompany.

All players are all happy at their club and don't want to leave plus we haven't been linked with these players for a very long time now...

Well with TS and Marquinhos gone, the only player left we have been constantly linked to is David Luiz. I imagine we would work on him + a back up.

Would Mou sell to us? I mean he knows how mad we need him; he would probably refuse just to spite us. At this rate we should get Sakho who can't possibly cost that much
