^^ david luiz is the most achievable option atm and david luiz is good. He is much much better than the present pique or present puyol or bartra.

Mourinho will not let David Luiz go. He wanted him badly at Madrid when he was still at Benfica. Would cost Barcelona a lot, too.

I disagree about the "nightmare of a season", but I agree with your earlier point.

I don't know a whole lot of Marquinhos, I've watched him a handful of times and I was fairly impressed given his age. Do I think he will be the next big CB and fix all of our problems at Barca if we bought him? No. Do I think he's worth 25+ million? Only if he realized his potential and became one of the best, and that's years on...not right now.

But the thing is, who the hell else are we going to buy that is or has the potential to be world class if it's not Marquinhos right now? TS isn't going, David Luiz won't go, Mangala we stopped showing what little interest we had long ago, Agger is newspaper shite, and Hummels interest died a long long time ago as well (and he's not even a perfect fit, either).

As it stands, I'd take 25+ million for Marquinhos just so we have someone. And in Marquinhos we have the potential for a world class player.

The CB spot is a bad spot that needs to be taken care of, yes. But the problems also go deeper than that- fixing our pressing or changing up our tactics to a different style of play/defending is more important than any CB signing will be. But we still need someone. I'd take Marquinhos over no one because that's what it's increasingly looking like, though Marquinhos is not my first choice (TS obviously).

here i disagree.... i am pissed of just buying someone atleast.....Consider all the defenders we have bought in last few years : all of them fall in two categories. A future talent or just a cover. I just want this to be stopped.

Could be an impact sub. He's the kind of winger they don't have and can give them another dimension and options

Don't get me wrong, Valbuena is a very good player and could play a 'Larsson role' for Barcelona but I'm not sure if Barcelona should be wasting time chasing him when there are other things that need to be top priority right now:

1-Solving the issue with Thiago - why hasn't any one from the Barcelona board made a statement regarding this issue?

2-Signing a CB - no need to discuss this any further

3-Have a good look at whether Vilanova is really the right man to lead Barcelona next season. Personally I'm not a fan of him (especially on the psychological side of things) and don't think he's in the category of elite coaches to managing an elite club.

very good three points mentioned.....
the first one is solved as Barca board has announced already to break the silence about recent issues in front of press tomorrow. I am sure Thiago departure and counter for Pep's comment will be main focus....But i wish they explain their strategy on CB issue as well...
point three will always remained answered because it is even unknown why did he get the job when great coaches around the world would be tempted to lead this barca team.

CB, I agree with what you said about what our main worries should be. Actually that was part of my thoughts due to which I used those pessimistic words. Very poor defense. Not buying a CB. Tiki taka the way we knew it slowly dying out. Pressing a major problem. Tactical changes needed of the kind that Tito with due respect to him I don't find capable enough of making. That's why at the moment I am not feeling much hope. The one silver lining could be Neymar if he improved the forward line big time and really gave us one more consistent top class goal scoring option other than Messi but the defensive side of the game is a huge worry.

What gives you that idea? It's a bit of a sideways transfer - but it doesn't exactly bury his career. No one knows what exactly is going to happen with the national team after 2014 - and he certainly wasn't going to be starting before that.

I know how much most of you loved this guy - so my condolences. I never really like to see talent like his leave the country, even if they belong to Barcelona. It's becoming ridiculous.

25mil for a bench player is a pretty nice sum considering were trying to lure a top CB to the club. We now have the financial liquidity to do it. I'm just trying to look at the bright side. It's not the end of the world. We lost a big talent but someone else will step up. La Masia is the greatest youth academy in the world.

We've had the financial liquidity to pull a world class CB for the longest time, although now there is most definitely more pressure on the staff of Barca.
Fans are getting furious and 10 neymars wont please them. we need a defender.. preferably two and Marquinho isn't going to cut our hunger.

I'm not mad at Thiago this could turn out to be good, or bad for Barcelona will have to wait for this season to begin. It seems Barcelona holds Fabregas at a higher value and would rather risk Thiago departure for him, so I hope he lives up to it now that he'll be seeing the pitch much more. Pep las season gave Thiago 45 appearance and Tito only gave him 36 this season. I'm disappointed in the boy, as patience is key many players gave this patient to Barcelona, Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, etc and now look at them, but then again its one thing that is hard to come around. Everyone wants to work with Pep.
