Both, kind of.
He was a great goalkeeper, but he has without question fallen off to a degree. Making more mistakes than ever. When? I dont know...a very long time...it probably relates to when Madrid got better defensively..when he has less to do, thats when he loses focus and makes errors. When he had something to save every 5 minutes (back when Madrid were very bad defensively) these mistakes didnt happen as much because he was in a constant state of readiness.
However, even at his best I never once felt he was as good as people said. He is a wonderful shot stopper and clutch performer...but I remember his first seasons, everyone said the thing he needs to work on is controlling his box and crossing...he barely ever improved those aspects of his game to this day and on top of that, he is prone to silly errors.

I think they wanted to get either Thiago Silva or someone cheap.
In Jan, Tata will see Puyol dont stay fit and its only a matter of time before Mascherano and/or Pique feck up bad enough to worry him.
Dont mean we will sign anyone though. And even if we wanted to, who? More or less everyone will be cup tied for CL games.

Maybe. I dont think Liverpool will sell, especially not if they going to be close to top 4 which looks possible.
Maybe South America, there are a few names we all spoken about.

Barcelona may still make a move for a striker before the transfer window closes. Tata Martino is keen to have a 'Plan B' in his squad and is interested in Oscar Cardozo, who he coached for Paraguay.

Pointing the blame at Zubi here. He's the man that's supposed to get things done. Just announced Cuenca and Afellay will both stay with the club this season and be part of the first team. Currently both are recovering form injuries
Afellay was handed shirt number 19
Cuenca was handed shirt number 23
Cuenca will be ready in a month, while Afellay is not expected to be ready until after the end of the season
with Puyi returning, thats 3 new signings for us this summer to go along with Neymar -___-
Cuenca to play back up to Pique and Barta will watch from the stands and take pics for instagram
