Re: Transfer Rumours
Biesla should be the replacement imo.
Who was the guy that Real Sociedad was trying to get originally for this season? It was some guy from Argentina, the coach of Velez I think. Does anybody know who Im talking about? If we go wtih Roura im going to fly to Barcelona and donkey punch Rossel

Bielsa would be a great choice, but what about Cruyff?!

Re: Transfer Rumours
Cruyff is old an senile.
I have a feeling we're going to get the Chin Roura.
we also hired a head coach from liga adalante? I Forget his name.. he was meant to serve as a second assistant for Tito in the upcoming season.
So i see Roura in charge with that guy as assistant.

Cruyff is impossible for sooo many reasons, the coach we hired is Rubi he was Girona's manager he led them to their best ever seson last season if anyone from the current staff is going to take the job its him, although I really want De boer,Laudrup or AVB even though all of those are comitted to cubs and it is almost impossible for them to leave. If we hire Roura I am boycutting next season and will not watch a singe barca game.

Surely given Roura's disastrous little spell earlier this year, Rosell wouldn't be so stupid.

Re: Transfer Rumours
NO to Roura. He's not a lead guy. That's what this team needs. Tito gave the team continuity which unfortunately was interrupted due to illness. We don't need management by committee. I'm not really familiar with Barca/Del Bosque relation. He said he retiring after World Cup 14. What are the chances?

Re: Transfer Rumours
We should sell Cesc. Irrelevant of Thiago leaving, that shouldnt impact anything.
The question should be is Cesc the guy we want? For me, clearly not.
The guy is not a midfielder for us, he isnt that guy.
Ship his ass out and we would be forced into signing an actual midfielder (something we somehow need all of a sudden)....not Sergi Roberto who is a decent talent but little more I fear and that fraud Cesc.

With a new coach who knows, he might be a midfielder for us. Someone more vertical like Bielsa might get the best out of Cesc for us.

El Tigre Gareca is Velez' coach. One of the best in Argentina.
But I think you're talking about 'Tata' Martino, who took Newell's from being relegation battlers to winners of the Torneo Final and missed out on the Libertadores final by penalties. More importantly, his style is heavily influenced by Bielsa.
Also was in charge of Paraguay when they nearly kicked Spain out of the WC.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Most Catalan press reporting it will be someone from outside the club now. According to Mundo Deportivo the top 4 candidates are Luis Enrique, Koeman, Valverde, and Laudrup, all with current contracts. Jupp and Bielsa also in the mix, and they have an advantage in that they don't have a contract. Tata Martino mentioned by some as well.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Please god don't let it be Koemen Of the top 4 candidates the only one I like is Laudrup but I think he is comitted to his Swansea project.Even though I always prefare a manager to be kind of young and long term,I guess beggers can't be choosers so I would be extermly happy with either Jupp or Bielsa although of the two i'd choose Jupp...now that I think of it Jupp at barca and Pep at Bayern facing of in the Champions league that would be AWESOME.

Tata Martino sounds promising. Just how we gave Pep a chance, who was un-proven, I would be ok with giving him a chance

Re: Transfer Rumours
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has cooled talk about the vacant Barcelona job and insisted Gareth Bale is not for sale at any price.
Villas-Boas emerged as a contender to replace Tito Vilanova at the Nou Camp just hours after the 44-year-old was forced to step down as head coach to continue his treatment for cancer.
But despite being among the bookies' favourites for the Nou Camp job, the Portugese boss gave short shrift to questions about his future.
"It's a difficult situation," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News, speaking after Spurs' goalless pre-season friendly draw at Colchester.
"All my wishes are with Tito. If he has to resign over illness, it's not the time to speak about speculation."
"We're speaking about a person's health, it's not even a question."

Re: Transfer Rumours
Well he didn't deny it.
The fact that we will announce a new coach next week makes me think we will either a) announce a coach without a contract (Bielsa or Jupp) or b) announce an interim coach (Rudi) while we look for a permanent option.

As claims that his contract has a buyout option upwards of 10m. So if Tottenham doesn't cooperate, we can always pay them off.alexjanosik wrote:CB

Since its Tottenham,we will have to end up paying every single penny. They wont negotiate. And we need the money for a CB(I hope).
So I guess AVB is not going to happen.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Assuming we have 40m right now in the transfer kitty (which we should considering the 20m we get from thiago), we could always go for a very good CB like Sakho/Mangala/Garay that would cost 25m and use the remainder to get AVB rather than spend all 40m on a David Luiz or Vertonghen.

TY.
A train wreck, so many things to complain about.
I wasnt really over tossing Abidal out like used garbage despite him still being very much useful I feel when we sold Villa...the selling Villa part I understand..but we sold him to a team who could cause us problems and take points from us..and we did that at a discount price...how could we be so stupid?
I dont even want to speak about Thiago....I am still going through the five stages of grief, im just onto acceptance I guess.
Our lack of defender is still annoying me but I do believe we will sign someone. I was worried we would sign some kid (like Marquinhos) only for Tito to bench him for Mascherano and we end up with the same problems as the kid never gets comfortable and fails. That seems like it wont happen but depending on who we sign I could still get upset about that.
Add some smaller things I dont think I like, I wouldnt of loaned Deulofeu...I think he is about ready for a role in the squad. Indeed, if we wasnt going to be given it then a loan is better..but I think he should be in...same I would apply to Bartra, who I fear may go the same way. I also think we shouldnt of sat still with Valdes..though im not surprised we have. Similarly leftback....and even less expected but still a wish of course is Cesc.
Im good with Neymar, there was 1-2 other options I maybe would of been equally happy about but I do count myself as one of the believers in his talent at the very least. But what I feel is important is what we actually plan on doing with him and what sort of tactical limitations and freedom he will be allowed.
However, all in all, I came to the conclusion that the window doesnt even matter so much...no matter who we sign or dont sign, sell or dont sell..if we dont fix ourselves on a tactical level we are going nowhere fast. I was looking forward to seeing if Tito was up for recognising our flaws and making the needed adjustments..I guess that will not happen now, but whoever comes in will be in that same position.
But the window itself...im very down on to say the least.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Luis Enrique and Valvarde have recently signed with different clubs so I doubt we will be getting them anytime soon. Laudrup is pretty much staying firm at Swansea plus he is much too inexperienced to be coming to a big club like us. Same with Koeman.
Three possibilities will probably be Bielsa, Jupp and AVB. All have more experience at the top level than other mentions. AVB will be hard to get and we will have to pay every penny to get him out of Spurs so Bielsa or Jupp. Apparently we have been contacting both...

AS claiming Gerardo Martino is the man tapped up for the job
http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2013/07/20/primera/1374279360_618771.html?id_externo_promo=canchallena-dsp-as
It cites Rosell saying "No doctor has told us Tito can't coach" a mere 3 days ago, which goes to prove that we probably. are not going to present someone with an existing contract.
