Arsenal fans could finally have their wishes granted this summer as Arsene Wenger draws up plans of a record breaking summer of spending, with swoops for striker Gonzalo Higuain and midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Lars Bender. The three targets would together cost a whopping £62 million and after an eighth season of failure, Wenger looks prepared to loosen his purse strings this summer, reported the Daily Mail.

Olivier Giroud has failed to live up to the high standards set by Robin van Persie at the Emirates and Wenger is prepared to launch a £25 million bid for Real Madrid ace Higuain. Having warmed the bench on several occasions at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Argentine could consider a move to the Emirates where he would undoubtedly lead the attack on a weekly basis.

Wenger is also looking to revamp his midfield and is considering a move for Borussia Dortmund’s defensive midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The 22 year-old German was instrumental in Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final and even netted the equalizer at Wembley a fortnight ago before Robben’s heroics took Bayern Munich to the European throne. Dortmund would command a fee in excess of £20 million for Gundogan and Wenger has already lined up another German, Bayer Leverkusen’s Lars Bender as an alternative target.

It has been reported that Arsenal are willing to sell skipper Thomas Vermaelen this summer, amid speculation Barcelona and Juventus are hot on his trails.

There has been a lot of talk about the skipper leaving the club in the coming weeks after an indifferent season which saw him take a lot of criticism on some of his performances.

And although he is still one of the best defenders at the club, the Mail on Sunday says we will search for a centre-half in the coming weeks and are willing to listen to offers for club captain Vermaelen.

Barca and Juventus have shown a very keen interest, with both clubs willing to match our £16 million valuation of Vermaelen.

Would be an absolute steal if we can sell Tommy V for 16mio.I don't want him to be sold but if clubs are ready to shell out 16mio for him, then Arsenal should probably sell him and buy some young CB like Sakho.

Besiktas are reportedly chasing Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, as his time is seemingly up at the Emirates.

Fabianski has always been a second string stopper at the club and will now look to establish himself somewhere else, as he will never be the clubs long-term number one.

And according to the Daily Star, Besiktas are looking to eventually replace Scotland international Allan McGregor, 31, who is wanted by Premier League new boys Hull City and Fabianski, 28, is seen as the ideal signing.

If Fabianski leaves signing a GK will become a necessity. But knowing AW he'll probably promote Martinez.

On a side note,It seems like these Turkish are bent on clearing us of our deadwood. They have been linked with Forehead,Santos,Chamakh and even Denilson rofl

And probably among Bendtner's so called 5-6 interested clubs half of them must be Turkish,IMO.

I was going bonkers about the PSG-Toulouse deal before I realized Arsenal has signed a deal with the entire Turkish league Thumbs up

According to that, you guys have a 70m transfer budget.

The telegraph is normally reliable with Liverpool related news. Not sure if they're reliable when it comes to Arsenal though.

It could make sense in theory, with that said.

You guys are debt free now, aren't you? And with this new TV deal coming in, along with being in the CL, could make you have a massive budget. Especially when your chairman, or some fellow from your board came out and said you guys have a lot to spend.

It is. Jeremy Wilson is very close to Arsenal. Top journalist.

A world class player should be someone who could arguably make any given world XI. Only players I would dare throw in that mix from our midst would be Koscielny and Cazorla.

Wouldn't do that so confidently though as I would have with RVP.

Agree with this. We do lack top, top world class performers that we used to have in abundance.

For example, take the invincibles; Campbell, Cole, Vieira, Gilberto, Pires, Bergkamp, Henry would all have walked into so many of the top teams around the world.

In the current squad, Koscielny and Cazorla (possibly Wilshere in a year's time) and that's about it. It's a sad decline when you look at it on this front.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas: “We’ve had talks about Clement Grenier.

“The club’s position is there will be no departure this year of a player who was educated at the club and that is reaching maturity.”

Effectively this implies we' won't sign both Grenier and maybe Gonalons as well.

Italian side Napoli are eyeing up a surprise summer move for Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott.

The little star has really come into his own and is finally starting to show the kind of potential that many put on his shoulders when he burst onto the scene as a teenager.

And Napoli are looking to spend a whole load of money on replacement Edinson Cavani, who is seemingly heading out the door to either Manchester City or Chelsea in the coming weeks.

And although we will not be looking to sell Walcott, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed his interest in the little man.

He said: “We require another right sided second striker.

“We are closing in on someone in this area, but I can’t say anything more in order to avoid the asking price going up.”

Juventus are unwilling to give up in the race to sign Gonzalo Higuain and Arsenal face a battle to land the Real Madrid striker.

The Argentina international looks certain to leave the Bernabeu this summer and the Gunners appeared to be favourites after Arsene Wenger agreed to meet Real's £19million asking price.

Wenger is also willing to push the boat out and pay the player £150,000 a week to ensure he lands his man, but Juventus are unwilling to give in without a fight.

Reports claim that Juve officials held talks with Real over the weekend when they also agreed to match their valuation, so a decision is likely to rest with the player.

Juve already have signed Llorente and will possibly sign Tevez and yet they're competing with Arsenal for both JoJo and Higgy Rolling Eyes

It'll be only a matter of time before we find an article in Daily Mail going thus:

"According to ficahjes.net,Nico Gaitan is blah blah blah to Arsenal blah blah..." Suspect

If we believed in rumors we should have signed all the players in the world.

Koscielny may have said some things but we all know he will be a gunner come next year.

Arsenal will have to pay £25.5m if they are to get Real’s Higuain

Perez is demanding £25.5m for Higuain, with Arsenal only willing to pay £20m for the former River Plate star but talks between the two clubs are continuing.
