Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal were drawn at home against Sheffield United in the Fifth Round and beat the Yorkshire team 2-1 thanks to goals from Patrick Vieira and Marc Overmars. However, the winning goal caused plenty of controversy.
The ball had been kicked into touch by a United player so one of his team-mates could receive treatment. But when Kanu received possession from the resulting throw, he broke away down the right and squared for Overmars to score.
The Blades were outraged and pointed the finger at Kanu but the Nigerian had simply misunderstood the situation, unaware that a United player had needed treatment. Nonetheless, the dispute was not going to be settled easily.
Arsène Wenger stepped in and, recognising the unique situation Arsenal found themselves in, he offered United manager Steve Bruce a chance to replay the match at Highbury.
Wenger's gracious offer was accepted and, with the FA's consent, the rematch took place 10 days later. Overmars and Dennis Bergkamp put Arsenal in charge and, although the Blades grabbed a late consolation, they suffered another 2-1 defeat.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Wenger: 'I will make a very late decision on who plays [if Arteta is out]'
'We are on a very strong run. Recently we have shown these games, let's continue to do that'
'We've fought back to be in a position where we have our destiny in our hands '
'The team have improved throughout the season. The players have been absolutely marvellous'
'This is a period where you have to deal with the nerves of the players and the environment. That's a big part of it'
'No matter what happens on Sunday, I will keep a fantastic memory of this team'
'I'm convinced that my players will be rewarded because they have displayed mental strength throughout the whole season'
It's down to the mental strength of the players'
Wenger on if he will take notice of the Tottenham game: 'I will just focus on our game'
Wenger on Beckham: 'I have huge respect for his passion for the game, his huge commitment, his mental strength and dedication'
'It was always a pleasure to have him here. He gained respect from everybody through commitment and dedication'
Wenger on Champions League final: 'The logical favourite is Bayern Munich but that doesn't mean they will win it'

Re: Arsenal Lobby
In the event of results in the Chelsea v Everton and Newcastle v Arsenal Barclays Premier League matches being a Chelsea draw, and an Arsenal win by a single-goal margin having scored two more than Chelsea, both teams would be level on points, goal difference and goals scored.
Under Premier League Rules this would lead to a play-off being required to decide which club finishes third and fourth, thereby determining which club enters the UEFA Champions League at the group stage and which at the play-off stage.
Should a play-off be necessary the Premier League has made arrangements for a single match to take place at Villa Park on Sunday, May 26, 2013. The match will take place early afternoon with a kick-off time to be confirmed should results require the match to go ahead.
Tickets will be allocated equally between each club and will be priced at £20 and £30 with concessions for children and senior citizens priced at a 50 per cent reduction.
The Premier League has consulted with the two clubs throughout the process of planning for this potential match with all parties in agreement that, should it be required, it should take place as soon as possible after the end of the season.
Discussions with London based stadia did take place as part of that process but limited availability and calendar restrictions, combined with wanting to use a large capacity ground that has experience in organising and delivering neutral matches, meant Villa Park was the most suitable choice.
Further information, including ticketing details, will be disclosed by the Premier League and the two clubs on Monday 20 May should results require the match to take place.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
By the way, Poldi & Merte are hosting a charity match today (right now, to be precise): Poldi & friends vs Per & friends. After one hour, it is 6:6. The players are current and retired players, other athletes and celebrities. Ron-Robert Zieler decided to play as field player today as he thought Lukasz Fabianski is fine keeping one of the goals
"Team Podolski": Lukasz Fabianski, Robert Lewandowski, Sascha Riether (FC Fulham), Lothar Matthäus, Toni Polster (Austrian football legend), Jonas Reckermann (beach volleyball Olympic champion), Eva Padberg (model), Nazan Eckes (tv presenter), Peter Brings (singer), Tom Beck (actor) and others
"Team Mertesacker":Tomás Rosický, Ron-Robert Zieler, Max Kruse (SC Freiburg), Torsten Frings, Ivan Klasnic, Nicolas Kiefer (former tennis player), Oliver Pocher (comedian), Matze Knop (comedian), Elton (comedian), Guido Cantz (comedian) and others.
LOL. Oliver Pocher was slightly fouled and managed to roll about 25 or so meters over the grass XD
