Neutrals and Barca haters? This is GL after all so we are bound to get such radical reactions as its best to avoid this period of time until things cool down. I'll be discussing the refereeing decisions within the Barca sections with you guys. Thanks though.
Mate I belive that Milan will use that tactic at camp nou as well. I mean, if they did it in san siro what will they do away from home? Like I said, I hate that style and I would be disappointed with my team if they used it, but I understand why Milan feel the need to use it and I will have to accept it no matter how much I hate it because its in their right to use whatever tactic they want..
Oh believe me, Milanisti and the club as a whole do not like to use such a tactic. But with the lack of balance in our squad along with the questionable quality, it had to be done vs what is the best club side of all time.
Mark my words though, Nou Camp will be different. We are fantastic away but the intimidation and Barca's potential reprisal after thoroughly preparing in the 2nd leg, I can see us choking and Barca making their comeback. I won't mind as a 2-0 vs them is all I need. Humiliation was simply was most Milan fans wanted to avoid.
I dont know. As much as I want to belive your word, because that will make it easier for Barca to score more goals, I hardly doubt it. Even last season when you had a better team you used that tactic..

I'm personally hoping for an all-German final. Dortmund vs Bayern would be fantastic.

All I want to say is its great to share this victory with my Milanisti. Forza, Lascia, Spence, Jesp, Dante, Ninja, M31, MTD, Pusha and my man ES.
Seeing Massimiliano Allegri reward all the faith that I and his supporters have put into him is nothing short of joy.
We may not go through, but god damn I will remember this victory.
Thanks for nothing, Arq. :p
Truly a magnificent performance. I will save my analysis for the thread in our own section, here I will simply give the necessary praise.
Firstly, I'd like to thank the Barcelona fans for their kind words and calm reaction to the match, many others would simply try to blow off steam but unsurprisingly such a classy section has responded admirably.
Secondly, Montolivo is a complete stud. Niang is going to be a superstar, Boateng turned in a fantastic performance and Ambrosini showed that he can still rise to the occasion with a brilliant captain's performance.
Finally, thank goodness we kept Allegri.
I also missed M99, iras and more. I cannot believe I forgot you. Post time you, Dante and ES were in my thoughts the most. I'm honoured to celebrate this with you. Trust me.
I cannot even bring to analyse the game yet as doing so would subdue the positive adrenaline of winning vs Barcelona. As of now we can only rejoice and celebrate like a family that we Milanisti are.
Allegri? He was my hero of today. All the faith I and others have given him and he repays it magnificently. I love Max.
This victory is all the sweeter for the fact that I get to share it with the entire forum and not in isolation. I can't imagine how the rest of you are going to sleep, fortunately it's only the morning here so I can now use this energy.
The job is, of course, far from done, however this result in itself has already exceeded my expectations for the tie as a whole. Hopefully this momentum can help us to overcome Inter and ensure that we qualify for the Champions League next season, which remains our most important objective.

Arquiii! What a victory that was ! I just finished calling friends and foes , couldn't believe my eyes at some point..what a game
Allegri was boss . Finaly, he'll get some long awaited recognition after this.. Great night for Milan , Barcelona were outdone by the team's efforts. It wasn't their night . Monty , Ambrosini
Dante you have no idea how glad I am to see you and celebrate this along your side. My friend I am still in a state of denial and shock along with slowly letting the gravity of this win sink in. It'll take a night of celebration but it will
At the emotional state I am at the moment I'd find it hard to thoroughly analyse the game (to which I'm sure both of us will comprehensively do in ES' thread) but now is time to reflect and enjoy what is a near historical win for us.
My hero's of tonight? SES (beautiful performance), KPB (can't believe it) Abate (needs more recognition), and Riccardo god damn Montolivo.
My MOTM? Max Allegri. I know you alongside I as two of Allegri's biggest supporters here and its fantastic to see him throw it back on everyones face. He truly is our manager.
I get it .. lol can't stop thinking about the game ! They were all incredible with motm definitely being Allegri . So happy for him , after all the mistrust and under estimation he went through.. finaly .

Barca's playing style forces the other team to close down. If the opponents have the ball 70% of the match time, you have to defend. It's logical. It's not possible to have more possession than them. That's not anti-football, that's a must.

I like this style very much though and I would wish Milan can do it every game. To leave the opponents no room to manage one clear cut chance and have more than five chances yourself.
A perfect tactical match. The only thing is that it is impossible to play with such intensity every match.
I don't understand what Milan should have done mate. Try and play like Barca or Madrid or United. We played to the abilities of our players, and we played well. We managed to completely close down the best team in the world, and we managed to be dangerous to them as well.
I can't see how anyone can look at this match and not see one team playing their tactics brilliantly, and the other team failing to cope with those tactics. Worms and other Barca fans said it, the Barca players said it themselves. You lose because you don't play well, you don't lose because you opponent plays "anti-football".
Read what I wrote 2 post above you. I think that Milan did right in playing that system. My only problem is that I just dont like it, nothing else.
And if you like that tactic, then you most be one of those football hipster from the Great Leader Sprucenuce's thread?

If Barca want teams to stop doing what Inter/Milan/Chelsea did they need to prove that it's not a valid tactic. Right now it is and you're just butthurt if you can't see it.

That's not true. While Barca will always have most of the possession, they would not even be close to 70% per game if not for the way the other teams play. I mean, remember the 2-2 clasico in the supercup? IIRC we barely had over 50% possession in that game..

I hate same country finals.... don't care where its from.
I watch CL football to see a clash of different cultures and styles.
Not to see an extra league game.

Once again, how I am being butthurt? I have not said that Milan should have used a different tactic nor have I questioned how valid it is. All I said was that I just dont like it, like there exist people who don't like Barca's style or Real Madrid's.
What am I not allowed to not like a tactic now?
