Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
Milan were not pressing lol. I think they were parking the bus but it was not anti-football given that there was an actual plan (that worked) to score goals. Nothing wrong with that.

What would be classed as not parking the bus vs Barca?

Narrow defending?
And teams can't just defend with 4 players, especially against Barca.

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
Well when you defend ultra-narrow with very little space between the lines that's parking the bus. It's not a bad word and a perfectly logical and acceptable tactic, don't see why some people get offended by the tag.

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
We can still win this but we got stop playing the extra midfield and play Villa or an inside forward. Prefer to use any forward including Sanchez over playing Iniesta on the wing. We will be a better and bigger threat on goal and we need goals to get through as well as our defense playing the best performance in their lifetime.

I just can't see Barca keeping a clean sheet. The defense is nightmare. You'll need to shoot for 4 goals. Kind of like Pool today.
I predict Barca winning 3-1 and getting knocked out.

Milan
btw the first goal shouldve been a handball. There is no other way Zapata can stop a shot of that velocity with out using his hands.

Technically it was a barca handball that was played on....came off the barca player's hand first then onto zapata's.

Still a Milan hand ball...and it was a baffling decision from the ref not to give it.

Not really. Firstly the ball in super slo mo showed that it hit Zapata in the face/neck/Shoulder area. Second he had almost no chance to avoid that ball just by nature of the deflection.
Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration:
• the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand)
• the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball)
• the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement
The deflection was quick and Zapata had no idea it was coming.
All in there in the rules of the game :

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
I consider it a 50 – 50 call and really subjective to the ref.
Maybe I should have whistled a handball but I can’t really blame this call for the overall result.
We rightly got what we deserved

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
He couldn't move his hands out of the way. Asking him to do so is unrealistic. However, one could argue his hands were in an unnatural position (up in the air like that), and that's up to the ref to decide. IMO when you're trying to get out of the way of a shot like that, what he did was pretty much completely natural.
Trying to get a handling call out of that just seems desperate. I wouldn't give it and I don't expect the ref to give that.
It's really more just unfortunate bad luck than anything.

You are right.
What bothers me is that if that was in favor of Barca the forum would be screaming refcelona now

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
I admit I would be among the first in line if that happened
But I'm biased and Barcelona have had enough 50/50's go their way over the years. It's about time they went the other way.
