You guys are clowns. This entire forum tugged themselves to death after Ibra raped England last year and Messi dominated Brazil's U20 team.

Now friendlies mean nothing?

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Why does everyone take so much from friendlies? they mean absolutely nothing lol.

Major tournaments are the only thing that matters.

The scorelines don't really mean anything, like if this was a real tournament, Ronaldoinho wouldn't have started, and wouldn't have taken the penalty. Brazil likely goes up 1-0 and who knows what happens after that.

But I think what you can take away from friendlies is how players connect with each other and how they link up. It can also show you what areas you need to improve when the big games come around.

I think there are a lot of positives that you can draw from how england played today. Their attack has looked better than it has in a while, and I think having Jack in the mid-field really helps their whole game. They just really lacked someone like him who can push the ball forward and make things happen.

And I think it also shows a 4-3-3 or a 4-1-2-3 is probably the best for them. It seems to best compliment Rooney, Wilshere, Walcott and Gerrard.. It gives rooney alot of freedom to play as the lead striker when he wants or to drop back and be a playmaker and let guys on the wings run ahead of him. all that really needs to change is who plays where like who should play around them. If they practice with this, Hopefully it shows we aren't going to be watching more 4-4-1-1 bus parking in bigger more important games.

Yep they still mean nothing and will always mean nothing..... scoring 4 goals in a game deserves praise but it doesn't take away from the fact friendlies mean nothing.

Well I dont understand the big deal, its such a small thing I dont agree with.

Obviously the reason im mentioning it is because Adriano is a Barca player, if not me, then who else will say?

Anyway on the game. I felt Brazil did better in the first half, kept the ball well and Neymar should of scored. Oscar did very well in the wider right position, while Ronaldinho had no real impact other than missing a pen. England defended well despite those 2 moments, even if other than their goal they didnt do too much else minus a Theo win when he comes inside past Dante.

Second half the subs impacted both teams, early England struggled to break like they was before but later on you saw Brazil struggle to constuct attacks. The deeper midfield was pretty sloppy when Ramires went off the pitch, Arounca and Paulinho didnt look very confident and one of them (I think Paulinho) was at fault for the Lamps goal.

Of course Fred was unlucky not to make it 2-0 and that might of changed the game also.

Overall, Brazil got some good things from the game, some bad. I think the fullbacks and goalie did well. Luiz was good...I didnt like much about Dante, especially with the ball.

The deep midfield is the biggest issue I think, not much composure in that midfield. Ramires was driving the ball well enough, but when he went off it become very static.

Ronaldinho was never the answer in a high tempo game, they needs something else there.

Oscar was for me too selfish when he got moved middle with Lucas going right. Out wide he put in some good balls (1 for the Neymar miss) and kept the ball very well. He kept it well from all positions really, but it was very odd to see him shooting 5-6 times a goal while Neymar was not forcing it.

Neymar didnt have a good game, but one good thing I felt was that he never overcomplicated it, if something wasnt on, he turn the ball over, he made the easy pass.

England defended pretty well minus a few moments, Cahill was doing well up untill his bad error. England are always better when they are compact anyway and for large parts of the first half they were.

Felt Welbeck was a bit akward on the left, he is fast and direct but got very little out of Dani Alves. Gerrard was disciplined, its a shame he didnt have this level of discipline in his younger day..maybe that could of made him and Lamps work a bit better. Wilshere was good playing passes and driving out from midfield, set up 2-3 shooting chances.

Your really dumb. Really.

The only reason people talked about those things because both players scored exceptional, wonderful goals...thats it.

Not true at all.

People give England shit if they play like shit..not if they play well and lose.

The only people who do what you say, are in fact the English..and mostly the English press.

No you're dumb!

But seriously that's my point. The Ingurland fans haven't overreacted, there arent 28829289 of threads on the first page, no one has made any outlandish claims or claimed this result means we'll win the WC.

Yet the old adage of England fans overrating their national team is still needlessly mentioned. The English Xenophobia on this forum is real.

Knew it was one of them, I couldnt see who.

Fred looked dangerous, even if he wants to shoot all the time. But he linked well enough.

Ronaldinho I think can still play, but certainly not in high tempo European style games like today.

What did you think of Dante? I really was unimpressed.

How can i have England xenophobia when i'm English? scratch

I'm just not naive to think anything has changed because we won a friendly.

Call me when we actually do something in a major tournament.

Excellent performance by England. Everyone played well bar Cahill.

Gerrard-Wilshere was beautiful to watch. Such a shame Gerrard is at the wrong side of the 30s. That partnership has everything you need. Wilshere MOTM deservedly although Rooney ran him close

Rooney worked hard till the 90th minute. His combination play with theo was pretty good. Theo showing his club form at international level shutting up the critics.

Brazil looked pretty poor. Not impressed with Paulinho. Looked rather average. Oscar was good.

Beating a big name would do a lot of good for England. Overall a decent win

This English/England victimization spiel is really getting old and tiresome. It worked once but not any more.

It doesn't help when ignorance is showed that Wilshere>>>>>Paulinho (when no one has seen him) or panning Neymar after one friendly in a new system. Exceptions, yet the xenophobia scheme once had a claim but not any more.

Pot kettle etc.

Because i said we are average before the game and won't do nothing long term.....

Not my fault i'm the only one who isn't falling for the hype and when we get to a major tournament will be expecting us to flop.

Its called being a realist, no hate just being realistic.

Imagine Sturridge replacing Welbeck in that line up and another pair of Cbs instead of those scrubs and England would have a really balanced team.
