You'd think so, wouldn't youdjoe26 wrote:@AnonymousFC0
After talks today, Theo Walcott has agreed a new 4 year deal at Arsenal. £90k p/w + bonuses. Only formalities left. #AnonymousFC
Thats better news than us signing new player.
But it's safe to say there's a fair few fans (possibly even on here) who would have rather he left

Only reason I want Theo to stay and sign is because he's got the most appearances and goals for us atm.

Is not about that, Theo will always be inconsistent, its about the principles.

How many players are we gonna let walk through the door? Making a stand with our current top goalscorer is not such a bad thing. I don't want the FC in Arsenal FC to stand for feeder club.

Re: The Official Arsenal Winter Transfers/Rumours Thread
During my time here, I have realized we dont have the money to spend.
Max 30m to spend and the board does not care what is going at Arsenal because Wenger has saved them for years and they still think Wenger will do it again.
We should be happy with any signing. Remember is not about Winning at Arsenal its about Trying.
Wont expect any signing until we sell some players.
arshvin
djourue
Chamakh
I wish we can add Hervinho to this list.

Re: The Official Arsenal Winter Transfers/Rumours Thread
I know I want him to sign too, but it's not the end of the world if he doesn't.
I was only responding to the "it's bigger news than signing a new player" which quite frankly is ridiculous as we have bigger problems in the team than keeping a player who just recently decided to step up his game and become greedy after keeping the faith, defend and support him for 6 f*cking years when he was young/inconsistent and quite frankly shite.
It's a big shame that keeping Theo is considered more important than signing a midfielder and winger for Arsenal.

Well said. But i do think that he deserves that 90k p/w because of how he played this season.Sina wrote:people want Walcott to stay because they are sick of seeing a player establishing himself as key member of squad and then leave

No mater who we sign, as long as Wenger sticks 1 dimension formation, we will struggle.

I know what you saying and I agree with you. Theo's big wage demand will take a big cut out of our spending money now. Walcott signing will not solve our problems, we still shit.
Walcott is worth 90k now but will he keep it up?

I've never mentioned that keeping Theo is more important than signing new players. I am glad because i am sick and tired of players leaving Arsenal every single year. Theo is just 23, he can always improve and if he doesnt then Arsenal can always sell him.

How much is Wesley Sneijder going for?
I would give him good wage if we can get him for free.

Re: The Official Arsenal Winter Transfers/Rumours Thread
People comparing Gervinho to Adrian? Please. Just stop. Different league, different level of team (Lille & Atletico), different class. You'll see (if it happens).

Re: The Official Arsenal Winter Transfers/Rumours Thread
Walcott hasn't recently decided to step up. He's been good for us for the past three seasons now, reaching double figures in goals and assists in all of them and having a very effective relationship with van Persie. Not to mention the impact he's had in the big games.
I don't know why people are still so quick to write him off. He's not irreplaceable, but he's a very effective player for us and he's been here for seven years. He's still young at 23 and if he continues to be good for us he could reach 100+ goals for us. He's already half way there.
The risk of losing a player like that for nothing in the summer, after spending so long working on him, is far too great. That's why getting him signed up now is very important. You want to keep the players that actually produce for you and the players that know the club they're at inside-out. Why should we go through the process of replacing an established player with a new player again when we can avoid it?
£90k p/w is a lot, but he'll be worth it if he continues to be as productive as he has been. There are less productive players on more money.
