The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread

Thats about the money we are rumoured to be paying for M'Vila. Why would we spend that on him? No sense. Must be among the hundreds of players we are tracking, but that being interested doesn't mean actually thrashing out a deal.
Yeah but that's how agents get their clients attention from other clubs. Like Ricky Alvarez last year, when Inter came out of nowhere and bought him just because Arsenal was interested 1st.
Sessegnon's good player but not someone we need.
Exactly. My point is that this is such a fail move by the agent(s)! Even supporters like you and me see through it, how dumb could management of these "other clubs" be to not see through this? Btw, the ONE club (and only club) who would jump at such rumours just to 'hijack a potential deal' with us are those clueless losers from across north London.

Arsenal target Giroud leaning towards Bayern
ESPN staff
May 9, 2012
France striker Olivier Giroud, a reported target for Arsenal, has spoken in glowing terms about Champions League finalists Bayern Munich.
The Montpellier hitman has helped to fire his team to the top of the Ligue 1 table - three points ahead of big-spending PSG - by netting 21 league goals and providing eight assists from 34 starts.
It has been suggested that his form has caught the eye of Arsene Wenger, who is likely to be in the market for another striker if Robin van Persie or Marouane Chamakh leaves the club this summer.
However, Giroud seemingly has his heart set on a move to Germany, having spoken to France team-mate Franck Ribery about life at Bayern.
"Bayern Munich are more in the focus than any other club due to the positive experience of French players there," Giroud said in Sport Bild magazine. "I have not yet spoken to them directly, but my agent has. Every player says how friendly they have been welcomed there and how happy they were there.
"I have spoken to Ribery a bit about the Bundesliga. We spoke about the fantastic fans, the full stadiums and the great life in Germany, and of course how the Bundesliga is particularly appealing to a striker since they play attacking football there."

@bbcsport_david: Arsenal not close to signing M'Vila. Many complicating factors (CL place, fee, off-field issues etc). No way a done deal.

Am I the only one here who does not really care much about M'vila?
I would not mind having him on our team but wont lose any sleep if we dont sign him. I want RVP to sign a new contract first.

I care about M'vila. For one, we need a pure DM and for another he's a great buy at 17 million with his immense potential and the fact that this will reassure RVP is another so Raptor, you indirectly care about signing M'vila

We need M'Vila. Song is not a DM. It's as simple as that.

Stop worrying about M'vila. The Arteta deal started was on, off, on, off, on in the space of 3hrs. It's never straight forward with afc

All these rumors mean nothing until Sunday. Maybe the deal has been agreed but depends on how we finish. I reckon all of our summer transfer business will rely on that.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
I should also point out that Arsenal will never admit they're interested in a player or that they are negotiating with other clubs. In fact, if they're denying any links and trying to cool down all the rumours, that's practically a sure sign that they are negotiating with Rennes and want to sign M'Vila.
We should all know by now how the club operates when it comes to transfers. I recall several ocassions where other sources have claimed we are going for a player, the club denying everything and the player in question holding up an Arsenal shirt a few weeks later.

That was because it was written in holy scripture from millenniums ago that the God of all of the football universe would grace the holy club of the holy Arsenal and holy holy.
But seriously, I mean beside Podolski, all of our next transfers and even who we sell will be affected greatly by our league position so that should be our main focus.
