Journal(local Newcastle paper) saying we intend to step up negotiations for Loïc Rémy after the weekend and want to sign the France international regardless of the conclusion to the long and drawn-out Ba saga.
They also say we have made an offer for 21 year-old French U21 center-back Nicolas Isimat-Mirin.
Debuchy deal will be done tomorrow and he will be in the stadium to watch us against Everton.

Redknapp: I would like to bring Joe Cole to QPR
The R's manager has admitted he is interested in signing the Liverpool midfielder and says he will talk to Brendan Rodgers as he attempts as his wages may prove a stumbling block
"I’ve got a lot of time for Joe as a player and as a person,” said Redknapp.
“I’d like to bring Joe here if I can but the deal would have to be right for the club.
Missed 'arry's wheeling-dealings.

Re: January Transfer Rumours
The future of David Villa continues to be debated in the Spanish and English press with the Barcelona striker set to be one of the major names in the January 2013 transfer window.
Catalan paper El Mundo Deportivo say Liverpool had expected to complete a loan deal for David Villa until the end of the season but Barcelona said “no”.
Villa however is keen for more playing time and is open to a move to England. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also eager to link the Spaniard with Luis Suarez, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Chelsea are also interested in Villa and Liverpool are now mulling over a 20 million offer to secure his services in the next month.
These reports, while undoubtedly exciting for Liverpool fans could well be simply a ploy for Villa to gain more playing time at Barcelona.

I would seriously question the validity of those reports. If reports are to be believed, Liverpool's total budget (w/o player sales) for January would amount to £20 mil. That only leaves about €4.5 mil after the rumored Villa signing. It's not been officially released, but I'm fairly confident Sturridge cost us more than that, meaning any deal would require additional funds.
My sense of this is that LFC saw an opportunity for a potentially shrewd move for Villa at low cost, but Barca have rejected it. The fact that we seem to be perpetually linked with Villa means that the media have taken the inquiry and spun it as Villa being our top target. I personally believe the interest to be dead.

Moussa Sissoko? This isn't three years ago. His hype died with his performances.
I can see the PSG trying to buy Coentrao, apparently, he still has not found his place at Real Madrid, and PSG fullbacks stille lack the name recognition that the Qatari want.
The post I was answering was five page ago, does not pay attention.

You realize that Moussa has been beasting this year and played great for NT in his appearances against Spain and Italy... this year, he's met the hype and then some. Watched a few Toulouse games and he looks very good.

Re: January Transfer Rumours
I wouldn't use the term beasting to describe him. He has rebounded from his slump, but I still can't see him developping into a very good player.
Too raw, not enough intelligence. He is very strong physically and quite fast but that's all. Some years ago he showed some scoring abilities but it has passed. Passing the ball is not its strenght either. He would be most suited into a true defensive midfielder, as he is not complete enough to be a CM.
If one Toulouse player was to be picked, it would not be him.

Re: January Transfer Rumours
Arsenal striker Theo Walcott is in a bidding war after refusing to extend his contract with the London side, and Juventus are showing a very strong interest in acquiring the England international.
Walcott, who is out of contract in the summer made the headlines again this week with a hat-trick against Newcastle United.
Juventus boss Antonio Conte is intrigued by the Arsenal hitman as he can be very versatile as a centre-forward playing in the Bianconeri formation.
According to Tuttosport, Juve have made themselves known by stepping up their pursuit of the 23-year-old, who is also being tracked by Manchester City and Chelsea.
After seeing Robin Van Persie’s success at Manchester United, it is believed Arsenal would prefer to sell Walcott overseas rather than have their English rivals become even stronger.

Besides, Juve need a REAL striker, not a wide-forward. Walcott does not fit the requirements.

Re: January Transfer Rumours
AVB about Willian and Damiao
"We contacted Willian and he is one of the players in which we had an interest. I like his style but we could not reach a deal with Shakhtar in the summer.
"Shakhtar are a tough club to negotiate with; they don't need the money, they can keep their players."
Villas-Boas also had high praise for Damiao, who was one of the key players in the Brazilian team that won a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympics.
He added: "There are many good players here, we are happy, but we obviously follow the best players and youngsters and Leandro Damiao fits in the profile.
"Leandro was spectacular at the Olympics but there are other interesting players. We are paying attention to his progress but he had injuries after the Olympics and may not have played that often.
"If he is within our reach, he'll always be in our list."

I think Willian's more of a central player, but can play on the wing.
So I guess he'd play AM for Spurs.

he plays most of the time as a winger for shakhtar... Anyway he has all the qualities of a trequartista... that vision, dribbling and defence splitting passes are killers

Re: January Transfer Rumours
Willian could do a job but like a lot of good dribblers with passing skills he prefers to drift into central areas rather than actually dominate that area like a proper "10".
You get more out of Willian by playing him on the left IMO.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Spurs go for him if they sold Bale and bought him and another AM and probably a striker too.
But it would be a surprise for them to buy him while Bale is still there IMO.

Re: January Transfer Rumours
Willian was in Brazil last month and said in national television that he was desperate to leave for a bigger team like Tottenham or Chelsea where he could be more in the spotlight but Shakhtar don't want to let go of him.I hardly think this will change in January since they actually have a chance to pull something out in CL,but Im sure he will move to England in the summer.
About Willian replacing Bale,he could play on the wings but its pretty clear that AVB wants a #10 and that's probably where he would play.Spurs would have to buy someone else,a more legit winger similar to Bale.

The only ones I know that aren't reliable are pretty much the UK newspapers like the Sun, Daily Mirror etc.
Though Fichajes did report Guita was linked to Real Madrid and then AS reported it after I think.
