January Transfer Rumours 2
If the rumour has been around for more than 2 previous windows, it's probably not worth discussing.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Inter Milan are keen to discuss personal terms with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.
Lampard, off contract in June, is sending out feelers to interested clubs and has received positive feedback from Inter, says Mediaset.
Inter want to sit down with Lampard's camp and discuss personal terms, with the England midfielder well aware he cannot expect his current Chelsea wages to be matched in Italy.
Initial soundings between the two parties has left Inter upbeat about Lampard's realism over what he can expect in negotiations.

Wow what a mistake by Holtby. Goes from being a focal point ina Top 3 side in Germany, and in the CL last 16, to having to fight for a spot with Dempsey in a Top 5 team in England that doesn't even get into the CL.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
In addition to what RG said, this is also news.
Holtby favours switch to Tottenham
My knowledge of Holtby is limited as I don't really watch Bundesliga. Can someone spread some light about what position EXACTLY does he play, and can he beat out the likes of Dempsey and Sigurdsson? From what I hear, he's quite the talent.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Hes similar to Wilshere in playing style. Can play as a 10 or an 8, the further forward the better because his positioning and overall defending is not so great. I don't know much of Sigurdsson, but being American I know Dempsey well, and I think it will be close. Haven't seen. Depends really what Tottenham wants. If they want their 10 to score loads of goals and basically be an SS then Dempsey. If they want a creative 10 then Holtby.

What you on about?
Spurs are 3rd in England i'll be shocked if they are not in the CL next season and with AVB contacts they will continue to improve.
He will walk past Dempsey anyway as he provides what Spurs have been missing since VdV left.... Dempsey is a glorified forward and it's quite obvious Spurs are looking for a proper playmaker.

Mole do you think this would be a bargain for Spurs?
Also, how is Holtby's finishing? Unless we can get a proper striker who is clinical (Defoe is erratic with his finishing, and Ade's finishing- for all his great attributes- is not the best), we'll need someone who can chip in with goals not named Bale. Can Holtby provide this in addition to creativity, which we also badly need?
My concerns over this deal isn't the quality of Holtby or the price, but what if Siggy and Dempsey both turn it on as they have been doing recently? I think one will have to leave, which is a shame as we just bought both of them.

Holtby what an idiot if he moves to Spurs. Schalke are comfortably better.

Well, according to a certain German tabloid, Holtby (who was on 2.5 mio Euros / year) demanded 5 mio Euros / year to extend his contract. Schalke were well-advised not to give in to that IMO.

Schalke are almost guaranteed CL football for a long time. Spurs aren't. That in itself is a big question mark. Unless he digs EL, in which case he was welcome to Anfield.

His dad is an Everton fan. If other clubs in England are interested, I have a hard time thinking he'll go to Liverpool.

Yeah I know, but he has said in an interview that he wouldn't even decline us if we come calling.

And you people call me a hater

Anyway CB he would be great for you IMO.
You have lacked the tactical and technical acumen of VDV this season and Holtby will replace that although he won't score as many goals as VDV IMO.
I do think you need a quality striker though, if you went to go that next level then Defoe and Adebayor are not good enough tbh.

Nope not hating at all

Anyway i'd say Spurs in the CL and Schalke in the CL likelyhood is about the same.
Which is why i said it's a sideways step but meh.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Paris St Germain have confirmed that striker Guillaume Hoarau left their Qatar training camp today to hold talks with an unnamed club, but RMC radio in France are now reporting that he is set to hold talks with three other clubs.
Everton are believed to be one of the four clubs involved.
The 28 year-old's contract is up in the summer, which would make him an ideal target for cash-strapped David Moyes.
Sunderland is the other Premier League club said to be set to hold talks with the striker with Shanghai Shengua and Dalian Aerbin in China rounding out the rumoured four interested parties.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Fair enough.
And I do agree with the need for a striker. I don't know too much about Damaio admittedly, but if AVB wants him- and he does want him- and Spurs have been following him for several transfer windows, I think he might be that signing for us.
AVB reiterates Willian and Damiao interest
AVB still interested in Willian and Damiao. Neither will come in January. Whether either comes in the summer depends on where Spurs finish and what happens with Bale.

Moving to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club would be a good move for Lewis Holtby. He would be moving to a great side watched over a superb manager in Andre Villas-Boas, where he will have the limelight and ability to shine and show his potential.
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have a good side and are a Champions League-worthy team.
