I think Lucas is a better player than Menez personally, and definitely Pastore. So i don't doubt he will break in at some point. Menez is inconsistent and Pastore is the most hated foreign footy player in France now lol.

Lucas when it comes to talent is definitely among them if not more. While he lacks the creativity that Pastore and Menez display he makes up for his with his sheer explosive play, dribbles and shooting. Its all to difficult to see where Carletto will place him given the man loves to develop a role in which he see's best fit the system.

As for Menez, he cannot be benched has his use of width to PSG along with his excellent and vital understanding with Ibra is invaluable. He has been one of PSG's finest players this season.

I'm just not a big Menez fan... he's like Di Maria to me. I don't like players who's game is so self-involved unless they're a CF. Very wasteful player, but a godly dribbler. Extremely lazy on his defensive duties too.

From the little i have seen of Lucas, he's unselfish. Can you imagine Lavezzi on one side and Lucas on the other? Just raw speed going at you... a complete nightmare for defenses since the CBs will always need to cheat wide a bit to help their fullbacks. Puts great pressure on the midfielders to cover back.

Just personal preference in regards to Menez though. Some people like his style of play i'm sure.

Menez is undroppable imo,he has been been one of their best players.

I can understand why Sports isn't a huge Menez fan as one moment he can produce moments of genius while the other times he is infuriating. Also agreed that his work ethic and commitment is sometimes pathetic. Though, thankfully it has improved from his Roma days. Its undeniable how good he has been as he can also thank Ibra for that.

What I see happening is eventually Carlo plays Lucas right behind Ibra similar to what Allegri attempted with Pato-Ibra. Despite Pato and Ibra being incompatible the idea was right as the glimpses of chemistry and how they complimented each other's attributes was excellent.

Since its a 4-4-1-1 with Ibra dropping deep in his #10 while Lucas plays off of him with the option to drift wide while Menez drifts centre depending on how the fulcrum (Ibra) plays them. Its typically how Carlo would set it up.

Vasco da Gama are set to hold on to their most prized asset defender Dedé, despite the poor financial situation which has seen them lose veteran star Juninho and Felipe.

Dedé, 24, is one of the most sought after central defenders in the world and has been linked with a number of top European clubs, including Barcelona and AC Milan, and also Club World Cup winners Corinthians in recent months.

However, Vasco’s executive director René Simões is hopeful that they can keep the defender at the club for the near future.

"He is in Vasco for now,” Simões told Radio Brasil on Wednesday.

"And has nothing but a proposal [from Corinthians] that came but of that I think it does not solve our problems.

"Dedé is the key to the change of Vasco, he has the winning mentality and has that love for Vasco. He is an essential player on the team".

Vasco have had problems over the past few months in being able to pay their players on time and are looking to reduce the wage bill to ease these worries.
