Btw he's the star striker for the best team in the Bosnian League if you didn't know already. And is 2nd on the list of top scorers in the league with 10. Only 1 behind the leader.

but the sad thing is, recently I havent heard any news about him from Liverpool side. At least in the next season, he can be loaned to some championship side OR he should play half the season at reserves and then go to another club in a more familiar league where his performance can be rightly evaluated

Well the only problem atm for him is the permit issues. I have no doubt he would rip apart at the reserve level for us. Hopefully it gets fixed and he can play for us. I wouldn't loan him again just yet, I would let him get acquainted with life in Liverpool and the philosophy of the club.

He was already good enough to start for the reserves at the beginning of 2012-13 but again permit issues.

This was his debut for us in preseason in July 2012, before being sent out on loan to Zeljeznicar.

He might be a star, and I hope he is, but as I said elsewhere... There's no such thing as a pitching prospect. Especially in Bosnia.

Playing in competitive games is always better than playing for reserves. In competitive games every goals, assists, fouls, blunders counts. It helps to develop the skills & mentality of a player. While the Bosnian League may not be the yard-stick for judging how far he might go, it's the perfect platform to judge his strengths & weaknesses.

He will be 20 in November and the next step should be to loan him to a club with higher stature.

Why not?

"There's no such thing as a pitching prospect" is a baseball saying, meaning that established and successful players are always worth more than young talent. Too many things need to go right for a young player to fulfill their potential - maintain work ethic, continue getting stronger, avoid injury, avoid mental problems, keep building on skills, and most importantly translate to the next level.

The "especially in Bosnia" comment was just saying that a top prospect playing in the Bosnian league is even less likely than the average top prospect to make it, because that last point is especially difficult. How his skill set will translate outside of a third or fourth tier European league is a massive question mark.

I hope he comes good for us, but there's a long way to go before he gets there.

I can agree with your 'pitching prospect' argument to an extent, but young talents are worth it when you can see the potential in them.

Although, I definitely agree we should go for the established player as of right now considering we've spent 60-70m on 'pitching prospects' in the past and they need games to get better. They won't get better if they're competing against another youngster their age by sitting on the bench / in training.

Talent is talent, to be fair. You can be playing in a restricted country in a third world country and have the talent to be class. The only reason the "better" youngsters are better in the first tier of European leagues is because of the world class training / development they have access too. Signing a player or ruling out a player from Bosnia shouldn't be ruled out because he's playing in a 'low tier'.

Let's see how well he does after he gets his work permit resolved.
