Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
was reading earlier how this game is designed so you don't get punished for killing unlike previous MGS
it's easy to get S rank even if you kill a bunch so long as you make up for it by finishing the mission fast
tbh I find it just as satisfying to murder everybody without being found

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
any of you lads found any rare animals to extract? I always keep my eyes out but rarely see anything new outside of side ops specifically for them
went to the animal enclosure on MB area
just like going to a real zoo
want the trophy for extracting every species

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
That 'where do bees live' mission (or something)
- Spoiler:
I think i picked a wrong spot to arrive because this place is massive and it's been about 3 hours and i haven't even arrived at the mission scene
About 5 different checkposts before and some russian mini-base. Was there a better place to land?
already requested 3 ammo drops

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
that mission is GOAT
you're definitely right about me not being able to appreciate the story as much (should have been obvious)
was just reading up about the character
seems like everything comes full circle in this game and where it fills in a lot of the history of the series all these characters that are important in the future have cameos that I'm sure fans love but it has no impact on me, thankfully I'm enjoying the story so far although we haven't really gotten much of it since it's mostly building up MB so far, gameplay is great though

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
Kojima did say he is going to try and wrap every character from Big boss' side of story including solidus, liquid and solid. So I guess nearly every character alive from snake eater and peace walker will be in it or mentioned at least.
Considering this is THE last MGS ever, he wouldn't leave any plot holes. So you should have read up on it before ffs.
I think the main story in this one will start appearing more and more as you reach towards the end. Basically everyone knows that big boss was the best solider to live and that he was a hero. What people don't know is how he turned from the biggest hero to the biggest villain. Which should be towards the end.
Think your base could get attacked in peace walker as well. I won't go online till i have built a solid defence.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
I read most of the plot tbh, I have a good enough understanding of the story but obviously nowhere near that of someone who played the other games. Either way I love the plot twists in this ffs. Only a Japanese mind could come up with a crazy story like MGS.
I will say though, I always heard boss fights in MGS were GOAT But I'm on mission 27 and they've mostly been 'events' rather than legit fights so far. Although there is one battle that you'll find yourself in soon RG. Loved that. Don't think I'm even halfway through the story missions yet though so maybe they'll come eventually.
regarding that mission taking forever I remember it being that way for me too, some of them seem to be like that, I always land at the default zone..if it's far away that usually means there are a lot of optional objective littered between, so I always stop by every base along the way.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
You noticed how heavily the game is inspired by manga/animes lol? Even the dialogues are what you would find in most animes.
I am really looking forward to the final boss fight. Too many people have hyped me up.
btw you noticed how enemies adapt to you? If you start going for a lot of headshots. Soon some pleb will be talking to the other guy that "they have ordered shipments for helmets" lol. Then a lot of soldiers will be wearing helmets then on
